Agreed. Eddie should really have retired when Stevo did. Both should really have retired mid 2000's.they were fantastic in the 90s no doubt though and good for SKY. Good luck to him.

It wont happen but I'd love Sky to throw some money at Andrew Voss to get him over here permanently. Such a great commentator, he made the uk based world cup so much more entertaining with his great commentating.

Many time this person drops his persona for example Terence becomes Terry etc ..

Sad to see Eddie go. Not easy live commentary and I think he brought real excitement to the game. Impossible to please the RL fan base who love to moan about anything and everything.

Eddie was great for the best part of twenty years.

In the last five years or so he’s been the voice that we’ve just all heard too much of. The same stuff too much gets tired.

It’s been better recently that he’s not the presenter and commentator for most games. Him just being on commentary has worked. But he’s still coming to his end and I think it’s the right time he went.

I can't lie, I've been calling for him to be sidelined for a number of years. It may be the format that's at fault, as the mouthpiece of Šky RL these last couple of decades his 'opinions' have got up my nose for a number of years.

John Motson has been commentating all my life & I was genuinely upset & fełt it was the end of an era when he hung the mike up!
