10-12 weeks was the initial diagnosis. Quality centre when in the mood

| Quote Judder Man="Judder Man"This kind of stuff happened with the Cardiff Hoteliers all those years ago.
We always use to book a place that was a 30 min train ride away.
I wonder if the hotels do it when Newcastle are playing there football at home or is it just an opportunity to hit the rugby fans in the pocket being a weekender.'"
It’s supply and demand. At any event, or anytime when hotel rooms are in high demand, they will charge more for them.

You’ve got a very good centre on loan in Jimmy Keinhorst. There’s plenty of Leeds fans that think he should be in our team.

| continuing to have it so far away will always mean that the RFL have to undersell it so they get a few bods and it also restricts how many people not just from the traditional areas of the sport but those beyond the M62 corridor will attend.
Wouldn't surprise me if there's a 10% drop-off in attendance over the weekend.
I for one hope it's the last time there and we find a more accessible location.

| i remember going to stay in newcastle with work in the early 90s and compared to other cites it was very expensive to stay there, even in a b&b well outside the centre. seems nothing much has changed looking at a couple of the websites

So that's pretty much anywhere in London then!
Seriously tho.... have you seen hotel prices down there? Unless you're willing to travel a decent distance then you'll struggle to find a decent room under £100 a night. Air BnB is the way to go if there are a few of you as definite bargains to be had.
As for Newcastle, they're robbing barstewards in the city centre. Best bet is to head out to Whitley Bay or Sunderland as believe they're the far end of the metro and one lad with us a couple of years back got a BnB in Sunderland for £30 a night. Either that or look for an Air BnB on the met line a few stops outside the centre.

Tightest or not mugs? We got a twin room in Holiday Inn Central 2 years ago and I'm sure they charged us around £170 a night (if not more). That's a ing disgrace tbh. It's got nowt to do with being tight, it's about the principle of not having the p*ss out of you.
When you consider you can get 9 nights in Lloret (twin room) for little over £200 p/p in July, for anyone short of cash which trip is a better option? I like Newcastle, the ground is great for rugby league, there are some good boozers and some decent eye candy, but I refuse to accept you should be royally bummed by hoteliers charging obscene amounts for a one off event.

Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. A very basic search of the first website I clicked on reveals 170 hotels/guesthouses under £85 for Saturday 19th May.
