| The only complaints about the play-offs stem from the fact that Leeds keep winning them. If you want Leeds to stop winning in them then there are two things you can do to make whatever system we use irrelevant. Either your teams can beat Leeds throughout the season and leeds wont qualify, or they can beat them in the play-offs. Whatever system we have if Leeds keep winning the important games, they will keep winning trophies and GF appearances.
Wigan had a week off and were at home, Leeds played a bruising game in france the week before, and were away, realistically how much more of an advantage do you want? Leeds to only player with 11men on the field? a 10 point start? no subs?

It's got nothing to do with Leeds winning them. It's to do with the team in 5th winning them which shows the regular 27 rounds to be pointless. Who cares where you finish as long as you're in the 8? Each position should have a far bigger advantage than the one below it to keep games competitive all season long and not just at the end. How long before teams start hanging back in the regular season (Wire have done it a few times this year) or more importantly until fans start too?
It isn't sour grapes BTW as everyone knew the rules at the start of the season, but I think for the credibility of the regular season the team in 5th can't win the final again and Leeds fans would say the exact same thing if it was another club who were doing it from 5th (and some do anyway)

| There are 2 reasons to have an 8 team play off, 1 to make more money, 2 to extend the season for more teams
The sign of a healthy league is the ability of all the teams in the play offs to win the final , if you think that is wrong, get rid of the play offs
However IMO the play offs should only include the top 40 % of any league competition

There is nothing wrong with the playoffs, its the format that's the problem.
I just think you'll start to see a lot more people picking their games and making a mockery of the regular season.

| Most critics seem to be fans of the few clubs with a realistic chance of winning the GF. I haven't heard too many fans of other clubs who've managed to turn over my team, Leeds, this season bemoaning a lack of intensity and passion in the regular rounds. Fans of the bigger clubs might not like the fact that their clubs don't turn up on occasion but the fact is that in most of those games where one of the big boys has gone through the motions a bit, there's been an underdog trying their damnedest to come up with a result.

it doesnt Show the regular rounds to be pointless at all. The regular rounds are part of the competition, just not the whole thing. The team finishing 5th has won them yes, but that’s only because they keep beating other teams. Wigan earned a week off and a home tie. They didn’t take advantage of those advantages, thas not a failure of the play-off system, it’s a failure of Wigan. Leeds weren’t advantaged by finishing fifth, Wigan wouldn’t have been in a better position to win had they finished fifth.
Its not down to the play-off system that Leeds are in the GF again, its because they beat Wigan to qualify for it, and under any play-off system at all, if Leeds and Wigan meet in an elimination semi-final and Leeds win, Leeds will be in the GF.

| Quote tad rhino="tad rhino"people are unhappy because the last two regular seasons have been dismal.
people are, rightly, saying they will skip season tickets, pick there games, and turn up for the play offs.
frankly i havent enjoyed this season at all. some dreadful uninspiring games. only wolves and bulls at home were worth turning up for'"
Try watching Castleford as sometimes it's been a bloody joke.

| Let's also bear in mind that Leeds haven't won anything yet (apart from the WCC).
