If you want to have a backline with no room and no idea how to set up a proper attacking move, choose Bird at pivot.

id go bird at 6 myself, lyon in the centres and hayne fullback and gidley to miss out altogether

I meant to say in this thread, one guy I have been very impressed with this year (other than players I have mentioned in previous threads - such as the likes of Dugan) is Ben Farrar, the young fullback at Manly.

He has had mighty boots to fill with Stewart out for the year and has played wonderfully well for the Sea Eagles.

Regrettably, one of the idiots on Fox also mentioned him this evening. It is still a fair call.

Bird at stand off may well be aimed at targeting Lockyer. He was really a passenger in Origin last year, he needs to up his performances considerably to keep his spot fornext season IMO.

How is either Lockyer or Bird a "future star"?
