Awful news, cracking player. All the best Rob.

It is a very awful disease, incurable. It is awful to have it at any age, but especially tragic for somebody so young. It usually strikes after the age of 50, but Rob Burrow is only 37. So many good years that he could have had will be lost by him and his family. A truly devastating and very sad situation for Rob and his young family. Unfortunately all my best wishes will not help him, but I give them anyway.

Well let’s just pray beyond hope that his life, well being and comfort can be prolonged for as long as possible and take each hurdle as it comes.

Extremely sad news. Seeing his interview tonight really brought it home and shocked me.

Warrior on the pitch. The amount of times he punished Bradford he made me nervous every time he got the ball and went on a jinking run.

Hopefully as many RL fans as possible come down to the testimonial / fund raising match

The friendly at Headingley between Leeds and Bradford on the 12th January will now be a joint benefit for Rob and Jamie Jones-Buchanan (it was JJB's testimonial originally), if anyone fancies a rugby fix for a good cause that day.

Over $86K raised so far, unbelievable from the RL community, well done to everyone

It’s unbelievable. In the space of 2 days there’s over £100k raised including gift aid.
It’s been humbling to see both how it’s clearly affected Burrow and how willing ordinary people have been willing to part with their hard earned money at a time when they can’t have much spare.

You can sit there and refresh the page and there will have been another £500-£1000 donated in such a short space of time by so many people.

Astonishing response.

The response is a sign of the affection for the man. Weirdly I think I was at Burrows Leeds debut away at Warrington. I’m a Wigan fan but me and a couple of mates were short of something to do one Saturday or Sunday and went along to Wilderspool to watch the game as a neutral. You don’t see many lads of the stature of Burrow playing at the top level but from day one he looked special.

I’m sure this response from the rugby league community this past day and a half is only the start.
