Leigh are currently having to play with one hooker for 80 mins, due to a Penky’s injury needing an op and although Beswick is doing a great job, he wont sustain that all season especially when we get into the 8’s. Our only other option is a youngster Foster who’s not quite physically ready for the step up.

So if 50k plus Higham’s wages gets us into SL then it’s great business IMO.

Gavin Bennion and Danny Bridge no longer play for Warrington, and I believe Joe Philbin is off contract at the end of the season as well.

The Chapelhow brothers for Widnes are contracted for the next 2 years so you can remove them, Chamberlain is also tied down for another 3 years.

Add to that we have no experienced cover for Bob Beswick at hooker & that Higham wants to come to his home Town Club & I for one think it's fantastic business.

Which is why I put IMO. IMO it's not great business. 1 man will not get you promoted. Its a team effort.

We know it’s a team effort, and that’s why we need Higham, we have lost a member of our team in Penky, he needed to be replaced immediately if we are to continue to progress.

Higham isn’t expected to be the lone ranger he’s expected to replace the broken cog in the Leigh machine.

There are probably players out there who could do a job, maybe a youth player somewhere. Just don't come knocking on Hull KR's door as we don't have a youth system, just a bunch of antipodeans

By all accounts this was a done deal many months ago. I know someone who is very good friends with senior members of the playing squad and he told me this at least 3/4 months ago. Shame really as him and Taylor are our 2 best props and we'll be waving goodbye to them both at the end of the season. (yes I know Taylor is on loan) I hope Hull can get their act together as I think Taylor will be pushing for the England squad if he continues on this season's upward curve and in a team playing well he'll be a stand out.

you do have a youth system, but you lot do like signing/releasing Antipodeans...go on, play it down !
