There's a difference between "borrowing a CD" and using copyrighted material in a recorded work! Don't tell me you wouldn't be the first to go to the police if your property, say your car for example, had been stolen! It's amazing how people have a selective view of the law: all for it if it's in their interest, but quite happy to break it if it doesn't directly affect them. Maybe you could look up the word "hypocrite" in the dictionary for further explanation!

There may well be a very big difference, as one (uploading a copyrighted work to YouTube videos etc) is making it publically available and might even be classed as broadcasting.

The other, borrowing a CD from a friend or somesuch, is not the same thing unless you proceed to make a load of copies and hand them out to strangers.
