I'm on board with what you're saying. Obviously SL is a higher standard and class of RL to the lower leagues. That doesn't mean that some people should be castigated for preferring to watch the lower leagues though. Quite frankly, i love my Sundays and i get a massive amount of enjoyment from what my club offer on the pitch. I also enjoy watching SL on TV.

Quote: Dico "It's true though.
I do enjoy watching RL at all levels and my post earlier was a bit cheeky more than anything but Chp standard rugby is not as entertaining as SL. People say it's more free flowing but i'd rather (as should most people) watch structured attack and defense anyday over the chp who, lets be honest, are just turning into poor SL clones as every year goes by in an atmosphereless cesspit.'"

Tell you what, go to a live Championship game as I can't think of a single one that is an "atmosphereless cesspit". I've seen some bloody crackin' games in this league so far this year.

kcab sfrawdder Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg

Quote: dally messenger "almost as funny as being a leigh fan and not attending an international RL game held in your home town hey'"

So you have been paying attention after all , But dont think you'll draw me into a duscussion about a match that will be a one sided blow out contested by players I have little interest in

I did however attend the NC GF at Widnes yesterday between the top 2 amatuer sides in the UK , A good honest game of RL

You're still funny , but I must congratulate you on being to draw so many people into your crazy arguments when it is quite plain you havent a clue what you are talking about eusa_clap.gif

Leyther Matt is a proper Rugby League fan. He watches other teams as a neutral with alarming regularity. He was due to come and watch Fax v Batley but when we screwed that up he went to watch the Crusaders instead. Maybe he should stay at home and watch it on telly instead eh?

(If my memory is lacking - it may have been another Leigh fan - Frank B? The point still stands though).

Superleague in Paris failed last time. Apart from Stade looking at Quins Union/League set up and seeing a 52 week opportunity, there is no other tangible reason to transplant a team into Paris again.
There are many on here who will vouch if Tooloose (sic) are ready for SL....but I would suspect not given they are not looking like winning anything between now and Licence time. There crowds are fairly good for CH footie, but it may take them another 3 years to get a decent financial pitch together. If Tooloose get in ahead of Widnes this time it will make a mockery of the RFL's conditions of entry.
Back to Stade........IF they are serious, then they should request entry into the Championship and see how they go for 3 years.....but transplanting teams into non League areas is a long term strategy that Superleague doesn't need to repeat just yet. Paris failed last time, Gateshead and Cumbria weren't a success either and depending on who you talk to, the jury's still out on London.
I have no doubt that if run properly and started from the Championship, a parisian League team will be ready for SL in 5 or 6 years....juat not yet.

Barrow for Super League 2015:

Firstly, when did Cumbria become a non League area ??

Secondly, Workington are the only Cumbrian team to have played in Super League and that was way back in 1996. Although they were relegated after just 1 season (relegation....remember that ??), you can hardly tar Cumbrian RL with that brush 14 years later !

Quote: dally messenger "just for you wellesey because you cant read, i would support a SA NRL license but not at the cost of our planned expansion, which is exactly what ive argued here, but you are too thick to work out.

its like having teeth pulled out i tell you'"

I can't read? My username is on the same screen, and you can't read it properly to type it back... But OK!

Anyways, ignoring the pettiness, you have basically proved hypercritical again when it comes to what SL should do and what the NRL should do. When it comes to putting in Paris (an area with no league interest, but a union club willing to fund it) ahead of Toulouse (planned expansion), you say "if you want to expand into a tough market, what better way than linking up with a club which is already established there?"
But when it comes to a similar situation in the NRL , you say "I would support a SA NRL license but not at the cost of our planned expansion".

Now, either you're a hypocrite, or you're just not very good at talking. Because last time I checked, you was arguing that there isn't a better way to expand into a tough market than linking up with another club already there; but now you're arguing that you would support planned expansion over this?

You can't argue for both/ It's either one or the other. If you could make up your mind, people might understand what the hell you're going on about!

Quote: SRC "Firstly, when did Cumbria become a non League area ??'"

when less than 1,200 turned up to a game and the team were cr4p...because the region wouldn't buy into the whole SL thing....

Quote: SRC "Secondly, Workington are the only Cumbrian team to have played in Super League and that was way back in 1996. Although they were relegated after just 1 season (relegation....remember that ??), you can hardly tar Cumbrian RL with that brush 14 years later !'"

...why? Are you saying a ("n" individual )cumbrian team would manage better gates? Sorry, but lower crowds than PSG, a worse team and the infighting that went on then doesn't bode well for a new Cumbrian SL side.....Better get yourselves sorted regarding where you will be based, what you will be called and how your fans will get to home games before spitting your dummy out. I know quins fans who travel 50+ miles to home games....but at kleast they can have a snooze on the tube on the way home....cumbrian fans would need to drive, therefore not drink AT ALL and wouldn't be back every week....simple as.

Not knocking Cumbria, just pointing out the bare financial reality that comes with a team representing a small country's worth of landfall.....
