| Quote: Mr Churchill "Quote: Mr Churchill "A shield with a red rose and white rose with the stems crossing all above three gold lions.'" My thinking being that this would demonstrate the strength and unity of the coming together of Yorkshire (white rose) and Lancashire (red rose) [from where, realistically, most England players will be drawn] for the greater good of England.
Anybody able to post mock ups of various ideas on here?'"
I see the logic in this and personally would like it HOWEVER it has northern connotations and whilst the domestic game for the foreseeable future will be seen as 'northern' the beauty of the international game is that anyone can get behind England RL whether your from Wigan or Weymouth because its England....We saw the beginnings of this on Saturday at wembley
Thus i think it would be better to do something more generic and inclusive.

| I agree with you 100%. Without being defensive, I think the 3 lions would be the key feature in my suggested logo. I was just explaining my thinking behind the roses. England RU use just a red rose but don't think people see this as representing just lancashire.

| Quote: jamesthepratt "One great outcome of this RLWC was the emergence of England RL as a brand. The players played with pride and the RL community got behind them. However one thing that REALLY grated on me was the England RL logo. To me it looks like something that might be better suited on the shirt of an EDL supporter not a world class athlete representing his country. Similarly the Mascot (the crusader knight) looks like something that the EDL youth wing would deploy on impoverished streets in search of young recruits!
EDL aside...In terms of a logo I'd sooner see something traditional and more professional looking. Does anyone agree / have any ideas??
NB
An Aussie might tell you, "Stand up smurf". And he'd be right, England should be more English and Wales should be more Welsh, it's nothing to do with the colour of your skin but the language and how well you speak it.
The badge could be worse, it's orite, you should keep it. Besides IMO should be Europe.

| We'll professional opinion is that the current England badge is a big obvious and not very iconic at all, I think it could have been far better.
The GB RL lion logo is IMO an absolute classic, a great piece of sporting logo design in fact it's one of my favourite logos of all time (it's probably sad that I have such a list )

| Couldn't we utilise this in some fashion?
Yes it's 3 lions but it differentiates itself from the football version by being red instead of white. Insert the words England Rugby League somewhere.
*EDIT - sorry just noticed jamesthepratt had linked to it

| The England cross badge is ok in my opinion, but I wonder if a rugby ball and a XIII could be incorporated in some way.
The old England crest was dreadful.
The gold/red three lions crest is used already - by England Hockey.
A tudor flower would be a viable option, but I doubt most people would see it and think England.
Maybe have a teacup and teapot?

| Have the Golden Lion's head on the old Britain top, like the one used in the 2001 Kangaroos tour, but with a round collar. The England flag should have a bit of blue in it anyhow, it looks terrible IMO.

| Having said that I don;t actually mind the current shield one.
Excuse my ignorance but why is the English rose red the same as Lancashires?

Dont mention the war!
That top left logo looks brilliant much better than we the one we have but think we have missed the boat to re-design it now.

I agree we need to stick with it now, I can't quite remember when I did them it was quite a few years ago, if I had the time or inclination I'd refine them as they look dated a bit to me but if the RFL pay me my hourly rate ill re do them
