Chris Hill

Chris Hill has been utterly Sensational in pretty much every game he has played and must be in with a great shout of winning MOS.

Its going to take some forward to be able to match Hills stats this season.

so he's played 4 more games than Peacock, and only made 144 more meters?

He's twice as effective as a try scorer, 3 x more assists, makes more tackles per game but more crucially misses far far less tackles, Hill makes more Busts, averages more meter per carry and makes 7 x the number of clean breaks that Peacock does.

As for the played more games, I'd hazard a guess that Peacocks spent more minutes on the field than Hill despite playing in less games.

The stats tell us that Hill is a far more damaging front rower/player than Peacock is!

I have seen stats in previous seasons which showed Peter Fox better than Ryan Hall, and Geg Eden better than Sam Tomkins.

The stats, are moment in time measure. They give nothing factual on the influence a player has on other parts of the game, things that are not measured. Such as how many tackles have resulted in knock ons from the opposition, how many carries as resulted in the opposition giving a penalty away, did a run attract the opposition to one side to leave the space on the other, did a good tackle hurt the opposition. These are vital information.

It doesn't matter what the numbers are currently, Peacock is far more influential and important to that Leeds team than Hill is to Wire. This is a consideration when MOS is voted upon.

Why? The fact we get big, consistent minutes out of Peacock is one of the reason Peacock is so good.

We don't need to, you yourself did "hazard a guess" that Peacock had done more than Hill. Seems accurate enough lol.

Throwing Wellens name into the hat for a late surge on this. Been absolutely slated at times this year by the saints fans but he just comes back better each week - nobody embodies saints more and never gives less than everything to the cause

Bottom line - neither players score many tries.

Clarke must have a real chance, currently the best player in SL. Cas were looking in a bit of trouble tonight and his outstanding try won them the game.

Absolutely. He's a real game changer but, of course, not he's not iconic like our Jamie.

Yeah, everybody knows Jamie Peacock wins the MOS every year.

They used to have a player of the year and a MOS. The scenario you are seeing is exactly what.

Yes, the input Clark is having propels him to a position of possibly been the player of the year in Super League.

But MOS is and should be different, and should be more reflective of other roles. Clark doesn't have an influence on others, he feeds off others and is exceptional at it. Without those others though, he would not be doing it. Clearly a quality player and one we would all want in our team. Players like Peacock influence others and lay the foundation for others to excel, much more aligned to that MOS tag.

Clarke is already one of the best players in SL. But not as good as Micky Mac apparently.

Going to look great in the primrose and blue next year.

Could Clark get young player of the year at 21? MOS for me is Paul Wellens.

We have discussed this before and it's complete and utter tosh.

He scored a try from nothing yesterday after the previous two tackles had been lost. Only a biased Leeds fan would try and claim something that isn't true.

Peacock should be mos by a mile. Any one else wins it it would be a travesty, But Leeds players don't win mos.
