You serious? If Mathers is ever in contention for England we might as well pack up. Even Tony "Mr. Nepotism" Smith didn't pick him for the 4 nations.

But Mathers has shown good form in the past and if he can regain that then there is no reason he should not be in contention.

On last seasons form any talk of his selection would be ridiculous.

I said there isnt alot between them not that he should be playing. But all of them are in contention if they play to the best of there abilities.

Yes, defininately have more depth this year.

Outs:

Esders - was on loan last season.
Stan - was a season too far for him last year.
Maka - had lost the "desire" to maintain his best standards.
Fozzard - good for the first half of last year but was finished by June.
Fitzhenry - a loss and we'll miss him IMO.

Ins:

Ratu - Leeds' Academy POTY
Hodgson - Hull's Academy POTY
Cook - Good young English player with bags of potential looking to reignite his career.
Watts - Genuine potential to be a world-class off-loading prop if he doesn't lose his focus.

The likes of Welham, I'Anson etc. have more experience and most of the players have loads of capacity for improvement.

We're a young, fit side with only Vella & Galea the wrong side of 30 and even the latter is a current SL Dream Team player.

At least one more front-rower wouldn't go a miss though but the season is stil 2 months away yet.

Lack the props to finish in the top 4,

Only Vella is top class, lovegrove is strong going forward, Watts looks to have the potential, the other two are average.

Like KR we at wire are a prop short to do anything in the league this year imho. That is unless harrison and Cooper play well above their age, it's possible but I dont think it's year of the wolf this year.

He certainly aint the worst on that list if your going by last seasons form.

There is IMO alot between them, only two are well established FB's.

you will find Owen will be look at his age look at the way he is growing and look at his speed and then tell me if not. he has the abilty to be best Full back seen years at Cas and we have had some good ones people like Steadman G B full back and G Beltcher the Aussie test full back and could quite easy be better than them.

i'd definatly have owen at fb than mcgoldrick, the latter is a liability with his gob alone!

he will be Cas number this year like he was most of last year only time he did not he was injured for a change Cas have done it properly only worry i have is that Ra Ra boys wont him.

Same here, I like the look of Owen but will Matterson hold Owen back and play McGoldrick at FB. I can see it happening myself and Owen being played on the wing.

I'd have Owen at full back, looks a quality young player. Then play McGoldrick at centre instead of Evans or put him the bench.

Blaymire - When on form, very good, needs to be consistent
Melling - Does a decent job
