Noted and correction to my OP has been made.
This should seal the deal for Toulouse getting a SL licence.
I just hope that something can be done to save the woeful London Broncos. London vs Toulouse is, to the uninitiated sports fan, flipping through his TV guide, even more mouthwatering than Leeds vs Toulouse or Wigan vs Toulouse.
In any case, Toulouse in SL can be a winner on many criteria.

Don't forget Toulouse v Dragons could become a decent little rivalry down in France. They could maybe take the game to the RU or soccer stadiums and make an event of it.

Indeed it will become a great rivalry.
This crowd exceeded the projected future capacity of a renovated Stade des Minimes, the home ground of Toulouse Olympique, and was taken to the regular ground of the iconic rugby union club Stade Toulousain, which is Stade Ernest-Wallon. It was always the plan of Toulouse Olympique to move its big SL matches to Stade Ernest-Wallon.
However based on today's crowd (which only Wigan and Leeds at home could hope to match), more than half of Toulouse's home games would have to be moved. (i.e. vs Catalans, Leeds, Wigan, Warrington, St. Helens, Hull FC, Hull KR and Bradford). Only the SL clubs with a low traveling fan base (e.g. Huddersfield and whichever 2 other clubs remain in SL) would play at Stade des Minimes.
Stade des Minimes has one big advantage over the other stadia in that it is located right across the street from a metro station. Inebriated English fans can ride back to their Toulouse hotels in safety.

In another ten years I would hope that we would have at least a third, if not a fourth, French club in Super League.
In ten years, one hopes, Morgan Escare, Eloi Pelissier and Theo Fages will be considered the much admired veteran stars of the French national team.

Because I am guessing (and it is only a guess) that Castleford won't be in Super League from 2015 on.
Then again, I don't know which of the hypothesized Super League competitions that have been floated will turn out to be the one adopted in 2015. So Castleford could still be in the mix in 2015. Nobody knows for sure.

Great crowd, but Fax have had 29,153 through the turnstiles in the past. Ok, a while ago, but a one-off game does have a certain "novelty" factor, and I guess it was very well advertised in the local area. The acid test is whether this can be sustained week on week.

Like I said before it would be interesting to know how much people paid to get in. 11,000 watched the test in Lens last year, but most got in for free if memory serves.

| Superb effort, especially considering a Toulouse team wasn't even playing. How many fans would turn up at Leeds & Wigan (too hotbeds of RL) to watch a completely different team play?
France is a massively untapped area with huge potential. Lets hope we get some clever people to release that potential.

| Toulouse is the 4th biggest city in France.
Toulouse is one of the few areas of France that has a prosperous economy.
Toulouse is the only place in France where rugby union is supportive of, not trying to undermine, the development of a professional rugby league club.
Toulouse in Super League will in the short term greatly increase the number of youth playing rugby league in France, and in the medium to long term will greatly improve the playing standards of the French national team.
Toulouse in Super League will greatly increase public awareness of, and hence the corporate sponsorship of, rugby league in France.
Toulouse in Super League, alongside Catalans Dragons, will increase the value of a French TV contract for rugby league.
The decision about whether to admit Toulouse into Super League is a no-brainer for Nigel Wood and the RFL ....
...oh, hang on...

| But what will it do for the benefit of the other Super League clubs?
Zip.
If French TV want to invest in something how about Toulouse and Catalan become the pioneers of a fully full-time professional French competition that French TV and sponsors can buy into.
That would truly create the next generation and improve the competition from France. And is a better proposal than inserting them into a predominantly North England competition where they would offer no notable benefit financially to a club that would bring much more support income and less in terms of costs for the return fixture.

You are right. Dynamic urban centres like Keighley and Featherstone, with their massive and growing populations of affluent young consumers, and with their important and innovative high tech businesses, are household names in the corporate and media world, and in the minds of general public, in Britain and across Europe.
