Yes, I can just see it, the RFL can have a special charge for clubs whose fans mock a player because of [ihis decision[/i to interfere with an animal. I'm sure that won't at all make the RFL look ridiculous in the media. Maybe they should have a charge for clubs whose fans mock players who aren't very good at tackling, or catching a ball, or maybe even because they've got a silly haircut?

Firstly, they fined Castleford because they did nothing to try and prevent or curtail the abusive chanting, not because of the abusive chanting. Second, that chanting also did contravene the laws of the land as it was discriminatory of his sexuality protected under law. Homosexuality is covered by that law, as far as I am aware, beastiality isn't!

I think clubs will indeed make sure, before the Wolves come visiting, that they do indeed do all their power to prevent abusive chants aimed at him, but I also think most fans will be at their creative best when it comes to chants and something as crass and unwelcome as the chant used by the Cas fans aimed at Gareth Thomas, will not happen.

He is numpty who was just bloody stupid and that is his problem, not the fans problem!

Although I do feel for the Wolves supporters, who I am sure will be sick of it after the first game, never mind the last game of the SL season!

This was not an anti-Cas post and they did argue that and did get it reduced, and more importantly they now have a very robust procedure for future. I have some sympathy with the club but of course not with the small minority of supporter involved in the chant!

As boring as it is going to get for the Wolves fans to hear every week I don't see why people would want the RFL to get involved to stop it? If he had signed for any other club the Wolves fans would have done exactly the same.
