One thing about GS great player that he was, he's rarely right about anything he says.
It would be a disaster for one club to dominate the SL. Crowds would tumble, sponsors would head for the hills, Gary Hethrington would throw himself into the Aire. We'd have allegations of salary cap fixing and Jon Wilkins would be strutting around his coffee shop wearing a new fur coat and specially made crown.
Suppose there's a chance but let's just hope Gary is wrong again.

Saints' ridiculously average back line was exposed tonight. They battered Rovers in the forwards, Walmsley was superb, however Rovers defended well, but Saints offered zero threat in the Rovers 20.

Credit to Rovers, it would've been a disgrace had Saints got anything out of the game.

Flanagan in attack handicapped us a bit in their 20, we started the match aiming to get at Albert Kelly when we were attacking as much as possible - in the first half there was 1 set where he had to make 4 tackles, and another set where he ended up defending on the wing. However, as our left second row (either Flash or LMS) didn't look like breaking tackles close to the line, we ended up setting up more of our backline plays to the right, at Campese who is a much better defender. However, our first up contact was pretty awful all night. There was a few sets where we got off our line and tackled well but there were far too many misses or passive tackles which gave KR a quick play the ball, which made them very tough to live with.

On the topic of Child, obviously there was the two obvious forward passes late in the game which were awful decisions, but there was also him absolutely bottling a sending off. Some tackles there is doubt about whether there should have been a card or not, but over the last few years, the offence most likely to be red-carded is seemingly a shoulder charge to the head, particularly when late. I don't see what changed tonight.'"


You may not be aware, but the Rovers have almost no props left to play. Yet they muscled up against a powerful St Helens pack.

St Helens only got close thanks to monumentally incompetent refereeing and touch judging, which missed two blatant forward passes leading to tries.

Ultimately St Helens had no answer for Albert Kelly, Terence Campese and Kenneth Sio.
