It is pretty amateurish. This should been sorted when it was announced that Stobart were no longer going to be the primary sponsor of the league.

Npower are always good for sports sponsorship, but i guess that is too bluchip for RL. It will probably the Big Soup Super League.

the current deal with stobart doesn't end until January 2013, so why would the new sponsor be announced now or indeed be on the fixture list.

Because the fixtures are for the 2013 season!

The fact Stobart where happy to announce the end if their deal pretty early would suggest that they where happy for the RFL to press ahead with replacing them.

Plus I'm sure a few clubs wouldn't mind any sponsor money in for the off season!

The Big Soup Super League kind of sounds like a gimmick/joke league. If RL wants credibility in the sporting world i'm not sure it needs something that will evoke ss from inside and outside of the sport.

Anyhow its a moot point. It should've been sorted and announced when the fixtures are released. Its publicity any sponsor is missing out on and therefore reducing money any would willing to put in
