Two expansion clubs, not to mention Newcastle, Crusaders and Skolars - are you implying I shouldn't enjoy that? They are the future of the game after all, aren't they? And their crowds are just a few hundred short of London, so I am really not sure of the difference TBH.
As for being a fake Canadian, I am a dual citizen and have been a member of this forum for 16 years, with that avatar for almost as long as many users could testify. A decade before RL was even restarted in Canada and very likely before you were born. |

The "family" concept disappeared at roughly the same time as franchising was brought in and the SPORT became secondary to non rugby related criteria and some clubs and their fans felt very harshly treated.
Some were abandoned and others protected.
At least back in the day, you knew that if you finished bottom (or in the bottom 2) you would be relegated and if you finished top (or top 2) of the Championship you would be promoted.
Super League removed all hope for clubs in the second tier although, given the funding cliff edge that was created a couple of seasons ago, maybe that was a good thing ? |
