I was planning on watching the early morning games at a more reasonable hour through the premier sports on demand service, but I'm checking it now and the england v australia game, which finished about three hours ago, still isn't available to watch on demand.
I can't see any reason why premier sports wouldn't make these games available to watch on demand, but I'm getting a bit anxious now that they will only be available as they happen live.
I've sent a tweet to premier sports asking for clarification but no response...

They got back to me. Apparently programmes become available to watch on demand as soon as the content is repeated on Premier Sports. So each WC game will only become available once a repeat of the game has been shown on the channel.
I haven't bothered to look at the schedule to see when the games are repeated but it could be days/weeks after the games have been played. Not ideal really.
Looks like I'm getting up at 6 to watch the Tonga match tomorrow then  |

I don't think that was the case with the NRL (they were usually on demand about 1-2 hours after the game). the Tonga game is repeated at 4pm tomorrow according to the schedule |

I have a 'laptop' sub to PS too, and normally I watch the NRL 'on demand', and seldom see anything live. But this morning I switched it on, saw the end of the NZ game, the first twenty minutes of the Fiji game, and then it died. No amount of restarting my laptop had any effect, and my internet connection was still good. So I too turned to the On Demand, only to find no RLWC listed at all (so far).
Not impressed!
