| Burgess has been sensational for 2 years now and with Hall should be England's starting winger.
Having Briscoe, McGilvary, Makinson, Lineham and Charnley in reserve shows we're getting some quality depth in this department.

| We have 4 good wingers in Hall, Burgess, Briscoe and McGilvary. Shame we don't have a 2nd decent centre to go with Kallum Watkins.

Reed has been good in a top of the table Broncos side.Sarginson did excellent last years 4 nations but hasn't really kicked on this season but has proved he can cut it at the top.Shenton has had a top year and Percival is not far away now.I wouldn't we were looking too bad at all throughout the threequarters and for once we have genuine competition.

| They're all good with the ball but they're not all good defensively.
Got to be Hall and Briscoe or Hall and McGillvary for me wouldn't object to Burgess neither.

| Naturally I'd prefer Tommy Makinson because he's a Saint. But I wouldn't have any complaints if some of the other names were selected ahead of him. He isn't the most dangerous winger in the league. But speaking as someone whose nerves have been shredded once too often I think there's something to be said for a player you'd trust to make the right decision with your life.
I should also say that a lot depends on specialization and the tactics (especially kicking) employed by the coach.

I agree a lot depends on the tactics, going against the Southern Hemisphere you're talking about a physical game. Do you want to go for the back 3 who will act like forwards giving relieving sets whilst your forwards get a breather? If so then Hall and Briscoe and McGillivery look more likely.
Let's be honest all options can score tries if given the chances so it's up to what they do other than that. Funnily enough we've got to the point and style in the game now when you actually have to look past how many tries a winger has scored, that's not the be all and end all of their position now and often just tells a picture of how well this club have been at getting him in, not that he's a better finisher than other candidates.

| My vote goes for Hall and Briscoe, know how to work well with each other being together at leeds, Briscoe is strong, good in the air from the kick and very aware of his surroundings, very rarely see him being caught out by the sideline. Hall has better vision than most other wingers around in my opinion, always finds the hole in the line, good footwork to compliment it.

| Hall plus any of the options mentioned works for me. I think Briscoe probably pips the others, if Mackinson had played the full season I suspect he might have moved ahead of Briscoe in my pecking order based on the way he's been going last couple of seasons.
A lot of it depends on who will be fullback. Hardaker should probably get the nod but If Samwise Tomkins is fullback then Hardaker would be my choice on the other wing.
My centres would be Watkins plus Reed for this series, but I see Watkins and Percival as a long term centre partnership for England.

| Quote Biff Tannen="Biff Tannen"Hall number one by a distance.I would go Burgess but Briscoe and Makinson wouldn't be far away either.
Hudds. Fans talking up Mcgillvary obviously, and he has proved to be a good club winger scoring plenty of tries but I'm not so sure i can see him making the step up so easily against the big 2.Charnley is a case in point, prolific for Wigan but looks average at best when put up against the big boys.Guess we may see in a couple of months, Mac may pick him as i agree his form is very good.'"
So what you are saying is that no matter how well a player is playing he shouldn't be picked above another player who's playing an average game every week as he's unproven at international level---- if the coach takes that view we are going to run out of players pretty quick. - or perhaps you mean only if they don't play for Leeds, Wigan or saints......
Fwiw I don't think mcgilvary should play for England as his defence is a weakness- but on this seasons form he's better than most, and certainly no worse than the rest.

| Briscoe and McGilvary, if we can't give the latter a go then it's a poor do. Those saying Hall hasn't had much in the way of scoring tries and that's somehow the yardstick...sheesh.
Sorry but Charnley is down the pecking order for me, he was bang average in the World Cup and lucky to retain his place, he doesn't offer as much as McGilvary IMHO

| Has anyone even suggested Charnley? Burgess and Manfredi now are infront of him at Wigan.
