Im not sure why or how people could argue that Briers isn’t attacking him from behind, the picture quite is from dead-on, it shows Briers behind Ablett and coming around the side.
As I have said I have no problem with the charge as it is, I do have a problem with that charge being inconsistent with what has been given before, and what will be given in the future.
Fact is, someone who doesn’t hit like a little girl could have caused serious damage doing exactly what Briers did and having a situation where the result determines what the punishment leaves us in a situation where it becomes a better outcome for Ablett for him to feign injury. That isn’t what we want either. What Briers did was dangerous and it put Ablett at risk of injury, the next person to do what Briers did may not be so lucky and they will probably face a huge ban and I don’t think that is right either.'"
