No idea because I don't have access to the entire list of SL attendances since 1996. What I can tell you is that during the current SL licensing era of 14 teams (2009 to 2013), SL attendances in 2013 are currently the lowest.

This weekend's SL attendances are currently down by -10.77% on last year for the same fixtures between the same teams and -11.00% down on 2011. Leeds V Warrington yet to be played.

This will result in worse average attendances for all of the English SL clubs due to another team bringing next to no traveling fans.

If we want a game that's ever going to be seriously more than a few clubs on the M62 we need to get over that concern. Forget away fans, you should be filling grounds with home support.
