Quote: bullman "Don't get LE myself and don't see that changing either. Looked at it today and not only was it as lazy as ever (stories just cobbled from the net, shocking design etc) but the price had even gone up. Why?! League Weekly is still the same price - 20p cheaper - and is better anyway. I think Ian Millward's column is great and Andy Wilson is one of the best RL journalists there is. That paper has improved loads and they keep adding new stuff, while LE is just the same old clap trap full of Martyn Sadler's ridiculous pontifications. He's obviously so self-righteous that he thinks he can churn out that rubbish AND raise the price. No chance. LW for me.'"
Like Tom, I would suggest that if you want to make silly comments about your rival publication, you should come out of the closet and reveal your identity.
Anyone can have views on a newspaper, and some of the comments on here we find very useful. League Express can speak for itself, of course, but I would go to great lengths to defend our designers in particular from your ridiculous assertions. Everything is capable of improvement, of course, bu within the time needed to put out League Express I think the quality of design is quite remarkable, even if I am blowing our own trumpet. And the amount of information we have to put together each Sunday is phenomenal.
But the one thing we will never do is go onto messageboards disguising our identity for the express purpose of trying to do down a rival. Unfortunately by making comments that are so over the top, you don't do yourself any favours.
Apologies to the other readers of this thread for pontificating once again.
