Widdop needs to see first-grade pretty soon. Barring injury to Slater, we all know he's not going to do that at Melbourne. Yeah, he might jag a few games over Origin, but there's no hope of displacing Slater after that, so I think he needs to find another club. I don't know how long he's contracted to Melbourne for, but he's got to show himself in the NRL quick, as there's already a few [iyounger[/i fullbacks who've come through who i'd rate better than him. Fullback in the NRL is too competitive to come into at 23/24 years old.
