No there isn;t and they couldn;t. Linking up with a Sydney pokie funded club would be no different to linking with a Q'land one. Raiders are already funding the Raiders cup and as said run a range of junior comps as well as other level teams in teh NSWRL so what is there problem? I still await an answer from anyone who can give a reasonable reason why ACT players should have to play in a NSW comp over a Q'land comp.

If Wayne Bennett can choose Shellharbour for the Dragons. Then Canberra could have chosen more local. Newcastle played in their local comp (which is even weaker) then Canberra could have chosen from dozens of clubs, if they were willing to help fund them. They chose QLD because of a special arrangement they have and the history of QLD players playing for Canberra.

Raiders are also paying for a Toyota Cup team. Any coincidence that they stopped playing their own reserve grade in 2008, the year this over hyped Jersey Flegg comp started. As did Penrith, Dragons and Parramatta. This was followed a year later by Manly and Knights.

Because they're members of the NSWRL and the NSWRL have got the hump that they chose to go up to QLD. Maybe they felt belittled by that???

Exactly, and feeling your nose has been pushed out of joint is no way to make far reaching decisions that affect the whole code. NSWRL need to grow up and look at individual clubs circumstances before making stupid carte blanche rules. The fact the ARL has backed them goes to show the old cronism is still alive and well. No wonder the QRL is so sceptical of teh ARL and the I.C.
