| Whilst not being the biggest fan of Tony Smith's selection choices for this series, I have to admit that he's had the bottle to do what a lot of other international coaches have not done; and drop under performing players and make changes. And for that he needs congratulating; a long wth the rest of the team. Whilst not a faultless performance it was a gutsy display and we ground out the win in the end. Let's hope we can do the same on Saturday.

| I don't mean to sound awful but some people are never happy.
Almost everyone who's ever worked under him has said he's fantastic, look at his track record at club level, pretty faultless, even this year he shipped martin gleeson out, wigan thought they were getting a bargain, he's been a donkey with happy feet, Bridge will be twice the player.
He's a master tactician, look at the cup semi and final this year to see that, yes he makes mistakes, the WC, the first half compression in defence last week but he learns from them...fast.
His team selections have been pretty spot on and he's stuck to his guns.
Overrated? Possibly..
The best man for the job? DEFINATELY..oh, sorry, shall we have noble back..
You'll see again next year as we (at wire) go from strength to strength (throughout the club).

More people than were touting Myler.

I did, but I also said Sinfield shouldn't play (and he has been one of our best players) and that Martin Gleeson shouldn't play (and yet I called for him to be included last week).
I have really changed my opinion of Sinfield from his performances in this tournament.

| Tony Smith deserved all the criticism he got for the WC debacle but this tournament his simply operated a policy of "shape up or ship out" with the likes of Moore, Tom Briscoe, Lee Smith & McGuire all biting the dust and the win against the Kiwis validate that.
This policy has generated a far more competitive environment where players know they have to perform or they'll be sat on the sidelines and also that players will get their chance.
For way too long we've been subjected to the same problems from the same players for years and although we arn't as strong as we'd like to be in some positions we've finally got round pegs in round holes selected on form so I'm sure things can only improve and for that reason I think Smith should stay on.
