Jus thought I'd share my limited knowledge with you

I have an accounting exam in a building about 2 minutes walk from oxford road station, we have been told that the demonstrations start at 10am and are anticipated to go on all day. We have been told that there will be a heavy police presence (as expected) but that there will be heavy security checks entering the building. (this was a little concerning as there are normally none, leads me to believe that these people can be quite nasty) We have also been told that we should take a packed lunch as they are not advising to spend any time in the city unless necessary.

Seems the best thing to do is go as directly as possible to Old Trafford and find a watering hole around there instead

No they don't, certainly not to todays degree and of course all protests shouldn't be banned.
EDF, a gang of football thugs and racists, have brought violence and trouble everytime they have gathered.
Everyone should be against extremists, be they muslim, christian, racist or whatever.

I think, now that the Grand Final is over, there's no further need to discuss this here. I mainly left it until now in case there were people travelling to Manchester who weren't aware of the potential issues.
