thanks for ALL your comments - with great respect, believe it or not,I do actually agree with many of your points and I would be 'tetchy' also but I am a passionate fan,like yourself obviously.I have no idea which team you actually support tho' I assume it's a Championship side ?
do you honestly believe £250,000,your quoted figure will save the M62 corridor game ? if the majority of fans don't want the french involved then kick up enough stink,vote with your feet and get them kicked out,distribute the dosh between the tens of clubs up north and find another scapegoat when you realise the couple of grand you will have received hasn't made much of a difference to your club.
SKY and IMO the Beeb especially can promote the game just as it trid to in the 70s & 80s but we have to face the facts that at the end of the day RL IS a minority sport and always will be - all people like us can do is support our respective clubs (for me Doncaster ,albeit long-distance with financial support) to keep them in existence and hope that the ruling parties of our clubs run them as efficiently as possible.
