Just in case anyone gets through to a representative with minimum competence:
The most exciting teams to watch in the NRL this year are Brisbane Broncos (Lockyer, Hunt and Folau), North Queensland Cowboys (Bowen and Thurston), NZ Warriors (McKinnon, Tate, Ropati, "The Beast" Vatuvei, and Stacey Jones), Melbourne Storm (Inglis, Smith, Cronk and Slater), Canterbury Bulldogs (El Mazri, Kimmorley and Idris), and West Tigers (Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah).
Yet how often does Setanta show them? They prefer to show us pablum. Imagine if all Sky matches never included Leeds or St Helens? Apparently the Setanta idea of a good match is something that resembles Hurling. The moron who answers crucrucrusaders may not even know the difference between Hurling and NFL, let alone between NFL and NRL. No wonder they are going broke!
I suggest that we demand at least three games a week, at least two of them live, and that Brisbane, Nth Queensland, NZ, Melbourne, Canterbury and Wests Tigers games should figure strongly.'"
Why do people come on here and show off what they know about the NRL. Especially when you can't spell El Masri! He's only the competitions top points scorer ever though I suppose. Also, those teams are your personal preferances. Why should those teams be on more than Gold Coast, Penrith and Canberra for example. We are lucky to get ANY NRL in the UK to be honest, Sky dumped it because it was so unpopular. Be grateful. |

No they didn't dump it, they got out bid by Setanta, Sky were willing to pay a maximum price and Setanta were prepared to pay more. The same happened with one of the Premiership Football contacts, sky will sooner lose it than pay over the odds. Its seen as a long term business strategy, be prepared to lose some sporting events in the short term, let a weaker rival pay over the odds. No wonder Setanta are finding things difficult in the present economic climate when they are paying over the odds for rights to some of the sporting events they show.
Next season don't be surprised to see it back on Sky. |

| I got a personal call from setanta today (nothing to do with my email just a questionaire) as I'm a new victim.
I told the guy I would be cancelling if the NRL wasn't sorted, he agreed one game wasn't right and would voice my concerns.
I felt better anyway, now I await my "nfl" email  |

As it still clearly states on our website we broadcast a minimum of 2 LIVE matches per round of the regular season, plus the Semi-Finals, Finals & Grand Final as well as the State of Origin Matches.
As of yet we have no news of any reductions on NRL games. If you require further assistance please contact our Customer Services on 08712 00 33 22 one of my colleagues will be happy to help. We are open 7 days a week from 8am to 9pm.'"
If I was paying for Setanta I'd demand a refund. As it is, I get it courtesy of Virgin. |
