On the subject of former Bulls' coaches, I wonder how may have noticed Jimmy Lowes sitting (very) adjacent to Les Cats coach Steve McNamara at Huddersfield last night?

I think Jimmy is one of those ex players who make a better assistant than a number 1. I think McNamara is probably also in that area but he was in the wrong place at the wrong time when Nobby saw what was coming and jumped ship and Macca couldn't do anything else but take the job that was offered to him. Who would have turned it down but it has affected his reputation since. Jimmy would make a very good assistant to Macca if it was offered and those French speaking locals wouldn't understand the range of expletives he is saying so he would be fine.

You can't deny McNamara has a decent grasp of the game but a half time savaging from him must be like being licked to death by a toothless Labrador. The only aggressive thing I ever saw him do was drill a penalty kick for touch low and hard into the Threepenny Stand at the Boulevard in response to an hours 'FC Reject' chanting...

Having a Jimmy in there to help 'deliver' the message can only be a good thing.

Ross Heppenstall has tweeted seemingly confirming that Jimmy is McNamara's new assistatant. Not seen official announcement but I confess I haven't gone looking either.

They worked together with the international setup didn't they before Bennett took over. The results from the England team over that period weren't too shabby if I recall correctly.

I don’t understand all the hate for McNamara. If anything he was a better England coach than Bennett who can do no wrong. McNamara won silverware which is more than can be said for a lot of other “better” coaches. Yet he’s supposedly the worst there’s ever been.

Cummins’ record at Bradford was dire yet he’s seen as the best young coach in the country. I don’t personally rate him but it’s not fair to judge him on his time with us I suppose with all the off field crap.
