On social media, the snide comments have been working both ways over the last six months or so. As well as various sycophants joining in to "back up" whoever's backside they're kissing, even when it's got nothing to do with them.

I tend to just follow the games via Twitter nowadays rather than listen to either commentary. Don't live in Bradford so can only pick up online streams, which are usually a little behind and you know there's a score via Twitter before the commentary gets there. Ruins it a little. You have to put up with the spelling and grammar, but it's still the better option for me.

Last time I listened the BCB commentator had trouble identifying the players correctly. As I'm usually at games I haven't listened to it this season.

Listened to BCB for Hunslet and they often went on a tangent and didn't explain well what was going on. Numerous wrong naming of players. Mick is miles better at least he has enthusiasm for the lads!

When Mick left BCB I carried on listening for a couple of matches, but found the commentary difficult to fallow. When they were on topic there were so many pauses and stumbles that I found it difficult to know what was going on. For a while I abandoned the commentary in favour of twitter. However, once I realised Mick had his own feed, it was a very easy decision to tune in.

Where’s the other lad who does it? I have listened to him and Hobbo and then some other person called Gerry did Hunslet and Oldham game with Pete Dutton. I know Dutton was thrown in at the deep end but his commentary has improved in my opinion. Hobbo is still an old dinosaur who lives in the past and just likes to shoot the team down. At least Dutton is positive in what he says and he has got better from when he started.

Pete is not too good. I don't know who has been there in his absence.
I have not listened to BCB too many times last couple of seasons I've been either at Sheffield games or Bulls games, usually one of them has been local enough to go watch so not heard too much match commentary

I have heard that Pete has got a form of bone cancer and that he is having treatment both chemotherapy and radiation and that he has still gone and done commentating when maybe he should have not. If that’s the case then I applaud him for sticking at it whilst going through what he is.

Pete isn't as bad as some people seem to make out. Sure he gets some names wrong, but so does Gledhill, and yet for some reason people totally overlook it when he does it. Incidentally, Eddie Hemmings is terrible for getting names wrong, and yet he's been Sky's main commentator for how long now? It's a staple of commentating. Those listening think it's easy, it's really not.

If that's true about Pete Dutton having bone cancer, I wish him all the luck in the world. The last thing he needs is people slating him for confusing a couple of players or some idiots giving him crap because they're sucked in by petty arguments and half-truths. The single most important thing for him is fighting that disease and hopefully beating it.
