| He’s been released by Featherstone for turning out for Morley RFC three times which is against the terms of his contract.
36 years old now, but IMO he’s precisely the kind of player we’re short of.
I imagine he’d have been on a good whack, but his options would surely be limited now.

| I'm not sure to be honest.
EDIT: I think at 36 he's too old and would spend the majority of the season on the sidelines. I hope that if we do go in for him he proves me wrong. I do think we need another experienced prop to compliment Crossley and Peltier but I don't think Griffin is the man to do that. Also for League 1 he'll want too much and realistically we'll only get 1 season out of him so in my opinion not worth it.
I'd sooner try an aquire a prop in their mid-late 20's who has been around the Championship for a few years and would be willing to drop down to us and hopefully then we'll be in the Championship in 2019 where they would stay with us. Solid but not spectacular. Bit like Sidlow coming to us and staying with us.

| Wouldn’t be a bad call, I think he could give us some authority in the middle, but in John Kear i trust

| If we could get him I think it would be an excellent signing. Played more or less all of Fev’s games last season so you would imagine his fitness isn’t an issue. They also had him signed up for this season and with their aspirations as a top 4 side must think he can still do a job.
We need an older, experienced head in the pack and not many players of his calibre are going to become available at this stage.
A chance to maybe win a trophy/promotion at this stage of his career, mentor some up and coming young players and play under a top coach might be an attractive challenge.

| He was on a lot of money for part time. I thought he might be a good signing for a year but not for the money he was getting at Featherstone.

| Something not quite right about his termination from Fev. Darrell's brother Josh (centre at Hull FC) was posting quite a bit on twitter about this, including some pictures that showed Whatsapp messages between Griffin and John Duffy (Fev coach) demonstrating that Duffy was fully aware of Darrell's union games while all this was going on.
If he is on a fair wedge, then maybe this could have something to do with Fev wanting rid?
Anyway none of our business, and I think he'd probably want more than a League 1 club could afford to pay him anyway.

Perhaps but any job is better than none. He is 36 but seems to have a bit left in him so he might be worth a punt, perhaps on a game by game basis so he can be released should he not produce the goods or prove to be more expensive than you can sustain.

Maybe he should sign for Morley RFC.

| And the fun fact about why the working class Leeds suburb of Morley inexplicably plays Union not League, is that they missed the bus to take them to the George Hotel in 1895 because they were in the pub!

Although at the time it wasn't a suburb of Leeds, but in fact a part of the Heavy Woollen district.

Are you suggesting they..ummm... 'manufactured' the Griffin departure to make cap space for Hock
Surely that would never happen
