Does anyone on here know if club statistician/historian- Nigel Williams is still with us, & if so, how he might me contacted?

I've been trying to track him down myself as I'm in the middle of updating club stats from 1989. Nobody at the club has any information about him. I had an address for him back in the 80s but suspect it's out of date.

If it helps, I've updated all the Wikipedia pages for the Bulls from the 1996 season onwards and I'd go as far as saying all those years are very accurate for tries, goals, attendances, players, squad numbers etc.

Ok for SL stats but not pre SL.

For instance the Mumby stats for Bradford are way out. They should read as follows:

580 Appearances.
8 Substitute appearances.
84 Tries
779 Goals
0 Drop Goals
1828 Points.

I use the definitive source - Bradford Northern - The History 1863-1989 by Nigel Williams. Nigel was the "guru" of the stats and the official club statistician for years. Unfortunately nobody at the club seems to know where he is now. We have his book which has stats on everything for that period.

I'm trying to get that down electronically and am working on adding stats the period where he left off until now and ongoing. It'd be good to get stuff on wikipedia updated for our players. I can provide the stats if you can be bothered updating them?

Ah right. I'll have to figure out how to reference that properly on Wikipedia. Slightly different than my uni referencing haha! But yeah I don't mind, it will take time though But I don't mind having this as a side project for the season

Great. I'll post the stats on the board. It can be a useful discussion thread too as all sorts comes up when you start to research them.

Anyway, that book doesn't have an ISBN. It was a very small print run in 1989. Nigel himself still holds copyright, so I'm not re-producing any of it anywhere. It is however a base point for ongoing stats.

Thankfully Nigel's book is very clear in the stats and takes into account the changes in points for tries and drop goals over the years.

He includes friendlies in his records of games played but they don't count as first class games.

The point about sub appearances is worth bearing in mind. Before thd game went 17 a side subs were seen as less important. That's changed a fair bit now.
