| I'm surprised there isn't a thread on this already but it's surely coming in the next two weeks. So...When exactly is the game going to be when we go down?
With Wakey and Salford having a turnaround in fortunes in the last few weeks - Salford especially have two "winable" games against FC and KR in the next two weeks, is it possible we could go down at Huddersfield next week? I'm not very stats minded, but it seems to me that the options are that, most likely seems against Wigan (which I'd hate, as I'm on holiday) or Leeds away at the very latest (which I'd hate for other reasons).
Also could there be a situation where we are in limbo and we are all but down except for points difference - which is shocking compared to Salford - and also could we go down without even playing, ie if Salford win on a Friday and we are playing on a Sunday?
I know we are down, but about the only "fun" left is working out when it might be - I'm presuming we won't win in the next month either. Any statos worked this out?

| Well the total points available to us is 18, assuming the hearing doesn't go our way. So looking at the table currently we can still catch KR in 9th place. However if we lose tonight then both HKR and Wakefield are out of the relegation mix.

| I've pondered this before, currently knocking 5 games off the end of the fixture list (for the 11 point difference between us and Salford).
The only reason I didn't post is this bloody appeal thing looming.
The last thing I'd want is to proclaim "this is the game we'll be relegated" only to have our points reinstated and look like a fool...

I was trying to work out whether or not that was strictly true, i.e. Hull FC and Salford are playing so two points have to go somewhere, but then I thought I can't be d.

| Well, the answer to the question does depend on other teams as much as it does on us.
If we lose tonight then we are stuck on 2 points with only 14 points left to play for - so the maximum we could possibly get is 16 (I'm ignoring the points appeal for the purposes of the thread)
Hull play Salford this weekend so those points have to go somewhere. If Hull win then thats them up to 17 and out of danger. If Salford win then thats them up to 15, and they and Hull can still technically caught by us.
So we move onto next weeks game against Huddersfield. If we lose that one, then we'll still be on 2, with only 12 points left to play for, and thus able to reach 14 points.
So if Salford have already beaten Hull this week OR win their game next week, they will be too far ahead for us to catch and we will be relegated by losing against Huddersfield.
Of course if we happen to pick up a win in the next two games it gets pushed back to the week after. A win tonight would probably see us relegated against Wigan on July 27th. Either way I think we'll be down before we go to Headingley, which some small mercy I suppose.

| The sooner the better imo. Gives us more time to sort out the 2015 squad and give some of the younger players a few games (Brook, Mellor, Bates, Roberts etc.).

| I think we can discount a return of points. Although the courts can say that the RFL acted outside their own rules (and I am not saying that they will) but what they cannot do is make the RFL return any points. The most the club or Grren can hope for is that the case goes their way and they are then open for a damages suit. BUT NO POINTS RETURNED.

Well yes. We know. The point of the hearing is to get the appeal rules changed not to get the points back.

| Apologies, my reference to the points appeal was tongue in cheek!
What is sobering is there are just three more home games now this year.
(Slightly OT and not that we'll get anywhere near them, but the underperforming Hull FC have a stinking run in too; Salford, Wigan, Castleford, St Helens, Bradford, Hull KR, Huddersfield and Leeds.)
