Now we know which envelope is getting opened for next season can anybody clarify for definite, before we can pick a squad for the new coach

1, What is the salary cap for next season
2, How many overseas players can we have

Think it's time to let the 6 points go now and concentrate on getting the right coach and squad for next season

I barely understand the rules on the pitch nowadays so I've no chance of keeping up with things off the pitch!!

I wouldn't be surprised if the above hasn't even been confirmed by the RFL yet. Can anyone shed any definitive light on this?

Sure I read somewhere that the cap will be £1.2million in championship? But the club has to make a turnover of £2.5mil.But not seen ANY clarification from
RFL.

rlCurrent Rules for Championship Salary Caprl

So, under that the limit is £300,000.

Which, unless there is a massive overhaul of those rules, this vaunted return to promotion and relegation is just a pipe dream as there's not a snowball's chance in hell of a Championship club being able to hang with even the most modest incomed Super League team

I think the cap is £950k. There is no way the SL2 cap will be £1.2m.

And as far as I am aware, we are only allowed 1 overseas player. Although I seem to recall Sheffield have quite a few south sea islanders playing for them so I'm not 100% sure how this works.

New Fullback
Sam Wood
Arundel?
George
New Winger (Ainscough?)
New Stand Off (Pryce?)
Adam Brooks
Sidlow
Adam O Brian
Manuokafoa
Addy
Olbison
Donno

Nathan Conroy
Bates
New Prop (Crossley?)
Alex Mellor/Oliver Roberts/Jay Pitts

That is what I would be aiming to take into SL2 with us. I'm clutching at quite a few straws here, in reality I suspect we will see Sidlow and Nas move on to other SL clubs and Leon won't want to make the step down to SL2 unfortunately.
Not sure what we'll do about fullback. BK won't stay I don't think, and I'm not sure if Gaskell would move on or not. If he's willing to stay I would keep Gaskell, despite his many critics.

Veni, Vidi, Spurius brutus detruncavi I came, I saw, I tore the thick b4st4rds limb from limb Bradford Bulls - the polished turds of SL since 2012:Black Backgrounds/Earl%20Sinclair.gif

Thinking the same nothus, ainscough can't be on huge amount at Whitehaven so would he like a shot at the bulls again, he still has many fans?

Kear (if he stays to FB) good under the high ball, can tackle.

4000 crowd in SL2 would be fairly good IMO, we coulsd have more support than Salford and hudds.

Instead of going through the rigmorall with the points, we have to getting contracts in place for next with the squad we have and those who may be available, if we stay full time that may appeal to a few players over having part time/ full time work then playing and training, hopefully if we get a strong minded confident coach he will help sort this out, he will know the score, if he thinks we will survive he needs sacking, need to get out in place now before it's to late, again.

The Cap needs to be abolished as basically it kills incentive.

The Bulls need to speak to Dr Koukash to bring forward a vote on this before season end as he was ever so close last time.

With the Bulls & HKR possibly changing sides there would be a majority in favour of abolition.

Ainscough is a good punt - I'd think he could do a job in SL2.

Can see next year being similar to this year, when we take on loads of loan players and they keep coming and going as the season progresses.

As we're a SL2 club, does than mean we can be someones feeder team? Maybe we can be the feeder team for Leeds and they can send players like Bailey, Kirke and Sutcliffe.

Oh how times have changed....... icon_sad.gif

That's one of the numbers doing the rounds, but no one seems to know for certain as I've seen people quote £900k, £950k and £1.2 Million.

And even with that being the case, this illusion promotion and relegation is still a farcical idea. Half the salary cap, but still expected to compete at the end of the season against teams who can spend double? Not going to happen.

Once Bradford and London are officially relegated, then that's it. The teams in SL wiill not change until the next time the rules do.

You mean like the Leeds Leigh match in the Challenge cup?

Ultimatly it will come down to a 1 game play off between a SL team that has lost most of its games and a Championship Club that has won most of its games

Now if you are that sure that Bradford are that poor and will remain so ' forever ' you dont deserve to get back

ultimately it comes down contrived and manufactured 'jeopardy'. So confident in the ability of the lower leagues to compete they have needed to introduce a one off game in the hope that a lower league team can win one game against a team which has likely already beaten them.

They may aswell give the lower league teams a head start or just start that game at Golden Point. We can have jeopardy on jeopardy.

Remind me, who won that match?

It's not a question of being able to get promotion due to being poor, it's a question of an uneven playing field meaning the deck is heavily stacked against ANY Championship club being able to gain access to Super League under this foolish system

It's always possible for a 'lower', or less well funded, team to get themselves worked into a frenzy over a 'one off' cup game, but even though this is perfectly true, how often, in recent history, has a lower league team beaten a fully pro side in any cup game? Even when the better team goes into the game with the wrong attitude, as Leeds clearly did - whatever the coach says - it truly is beyond being even rare.

For the lower league team to do that [and actually win as well] in a [ileague[/i format over eight games is patently ridiculous. Let's be honest, we can go back as far as we want, and if all those [very few] cup 'upsets' had been played over two legs they wouldn't have happened. RL isn't like soccer, we have a full goal line to defend, so we can't pack the goalmouth and hope for a lucky breakaway. The modern version of RL is probably even more unforgiving to the lower sides than it has ever been in the past.
