| I’ve won a prize in the Bradford Bulls lottery! I’ve managed to keep it out of the press until now but I feel it is time to share my good fortune with one of you lucky people.
I have won nothing short of fish and chips TWICE at Beacon Road Traditional Fisheries in Wibsey. As delighted as I am to win something, I live in East Leeds so one of you lot can have it. You have until 4th August to use the voucher and I’ll post it to whoever asks first.
Incidentally I looked up where Wibsey was this morning. I’ve been watching Bradford for about 25 years but until today I thought it was the other side of Dudley Hill. But get this! I’ve lived in Leeds 36 years and still can’t remember which one is Briggate. Endearingly clueless I’m sure you’ll ALL agree.

I haven't been in quite a long time, but it used to be a cracking little chippy. Has it changed hands or something? Where is better now then?

Other side of Dudley Hill from where PP? Your home in Leeds or at Odsal? From a position at Odsal the only places between you and Leeds, at the other side of Dudley Hill, is first Tyersal and then Pudsey, come to think of it Pudsey does [isound[/i ever so slightly like Wibsey...could be confusing, I guess, but not if you've lived 36 years in Leeds.

I thought Wibsey was where Holme Wood actually is. That's Tyersal sort of area probably? I haven't a clue.
FA has claimed it btw.

| My wife says it was the best fish shop 'ever', Mother Hubbards second and Queensbury Smelly Hut third
If only I hadn't been stuck on a train outside Manchester Piccadilly all morning i may have been able to claim this and
treated her to a night out

| Seeing as we are coming out, my wife won £5 on the Bulls lottery.
We are determined to not let it change us. Not sure we will still be able to hang round with our friends anymore though.

Holme wood is a bit nearer Dudley Hill and Tyersal is a bit nearer Pudsey. In fact the Tyersal estate bit, which didn't form part of the original Tyersal but was built-on to the edge, was built just over the on the Pudsey side of the boundary stream, so is technically in Leeds, even though it is in BD4, gets post and bin collections and buses etc from Bradford, it actually comes under Leeds council.
Not a lot of people know that.....
