Game one in the trilogy of doom, over by half time. Was the second half a bit more steel from Bradford or just Wigan not really needing to do much?

Not the best of performances today. Hopefully there'll be a bit more composure shown away at Warrington.

Farrell was the main difference today class player got into our faces and had the strength the breaks tackles, still far to many errors caused by us trying to force the pass when there was no real need, step it up against warrington though we have to.

Bad day at the office for the Bulls today. Wigan did all the damage in the first half. Sammuts three kicks that went out on the full either side of half time didn't help proceedings. We were our own worst enemy today.

Almost a repeat of the Wigan game. First, there is no way we would have won, Wigan at this stage are better than us and dominated the play. Second, we did try very hard, and fro 80 minutes, but made so many elementary blunders that we placed ourselves under the cosh far too much to cope with, even against a medium side, and you simply can't afford to make these sequences of schoolboy blunders if you want to have a chance of beating the top teams.

How Kearney got the official MoM I don't know, he had a bit of a mare, though not as much as poor old Jarrod, who had an "after the Lord Mayor's show" day.
But we kept at it, to the last, and I can't fault the team for effort or determination.

Moving on to the ref, Roby was equally as bad and infuriatingly bliund and inconsistent as he was against Saints. He ruined the game as a spectacle, again, by one-eyed refereeing and one or two simply appalling blunders.

He could see high Bradford shots but missed a sequence of high Wigan shots. He could see "reefs" that nobody else could, yet when every person in the ground saw a Wigan player attempt a pass out of a tackle, and we catch it, the clown is the only person in the ground who called it a strip.

He let Wigan dictate the position of their defensive line, especially, first tackle, with the result that as the pall was played, they were usually only 3 or 4 metres away.

He let Wigan dominate the tackles, giving them as much time as they wanted to lie on and manipulate the tackled player. He even let go two absolutely blatant flops.

And near the end, the sequence of penalties was a mystery, I'm sure he was making them up, but I said to those around me that he was itching to send somebody off and so it proved. He just had to do it, you could see it coming. But, we did give him the opportunities to blow, and for much of the game we were our own worst enemy.

Fortunately, his abysmal performance did not influence the result, as we would have to be near our best to beat Wigan on present form, and today we weren't. He just spoiled the game.

If I never see that little runt referee another Bulls game again, it will be too soon. It is all about him, and he is just so rubbish he winds the crowd up and spoils it for everyone. All the other refs, even Child this season, make a decent fist of it but this guy is a plank. If Ganson wants to make his mark then he should send Roby to the C2 for a season and see if he is capable of reaching a decent standard.

I'm not too despondent, individual mistakes cost us. Walker needs to learn how to tackle and Kearney need to learn to catch a bobbling ball.

Wigan are the best attacking team in the league, and for the most part we defended pretty well. Wigan had numerous repeat sets on our line, yet we defended pretty well mostly. How many of Wigan tries were from kicks? Think at least half so we have to be positive abuot how well we defended as a team.

Cut out the silly individual mistakes and we would have been in that game (we drew the second half) Kearney needs resting, and in that time needs training in dealing with bobbling balls, Walker had a mare in defence, and Sammut kicking out on the full 3 times was comical.

The referee... he is an absolute disgrace, FA got it spot on. His inconsistent officiating at the ruck is a appalling. Never in my life have i seen as bad an official.

Please please Mr. Ganson, come back!!

That first half was a joke. What on earth were we doing? Poor or non-existent defence, passing to no one, kicking out on the full, dropping ball on the first tackle. Shocking. We not only handed the game to Wigan on a plate, we gift wrapped it and put a now around it.
Second half was better. But damage was done, there was no way we we coming back. I am very disappointed, I thought we could have given them a game today. And when we meet again, I hope we do play like we can.

And as for Roby - what is he on? Seriously? He sees things that no one else sees, and misses things that everyone else sees. I don't get it.
Once again, we were up against a side who seem to spend all day laid on at the ptb and nothing gets done. Maybe we need to learn to play the game a bit better and take more advantage.
And I assume the forward pass rule had been abandoned for the day due to the wind?

Wigan were just too good for us today. We had a real shocking first half and even though we sorted out our defence in the 2nd half we just couldn't do anything to really threaten Wigan.

Roby was allowing a lot of time and messing around at the ptb. Wigan are a far better team than us when it comes to slowing it down there.

It's a shame when the match gets built up and Cummins asks for everyone to turn up and then the team come out and drop the ball, miss far too many tackles and kick out on the full several times. You can't afford to be anything but your best against Wigan and we were nowhere near that today.

Credit to Wigan though, they got in our faces and simply didn't let us play.

Our kicking game needs some serious work before we face Warrington. Thought it was a mistake having gale on the bench, if he's fit let him play, if not put a forward on the bench and give him another week.

Cummins looked fuming when he went down the tunnel at the end, I have faith that he will do what needs to be done to put it right after that shambolic performance.

Putting whiteheads up against Farrell was a very bad decision, he is far and away wigans best player atm would have lived to see Bateman up against him watch them slug it out.

The mistakes in the 1st half were really costly and you just cannot afford to hand a very good Wigan side the possession in your own half. I thought we struggled to match Wigan physically at times and some of our kicking was dreadful. The kicks out on the full were real killers and by half time we hadn't really given ourselves a chance to compete.

Credit for the determination on show in the 2nd half and we certainly defended better and there were a few spells of decent rugby on show from us. We never really looked quick enough to trouble the solid Wigan defence though. Credit to Wigam they're a class team and fully deserved the points today so we can have no complaints.

Regarding Roby, he is crap and I didn't need to watch his performance again today to realise that. The amount of high shots that went unpunished and his inability to spot a forward pass are frustrating to say the least. The only positive is the chances of getting a result today were always going to be slim so hopefully we won't see him again for a couple of months now.

Roby - Sh*t performance, absolutely appalled at his refereeing today might not have affected the result but the score may not have been as bad (maybe a try or two less) and how the hell did he give 4 penalties and send Whitehead to the bin?!?! The penalties he gave were non-existent.

Right now that is out of the way I can focus on the Bulls. Before the game I thought the sweeping moves that Wigan do (left to right or vise versa which always end up with Charnley/Richards scoring) were going to kill us but in fact today it was simple drop offs as our inside defence was crap. Langley was one of the worst for being the inside defender as he never pushed once on the inside.

Mistakes killed us today (this was the second thing that killed us after the non-existent inside defence). First of all Platt knocking on when he had the line at his mercy was a killer as that would have put us either 6-4 or 6-6 to give us confidence. Also Gale's pass to Sammut was not in the second half and should not have been given, gifted Wigan the ball and about 2-3 sets too. Whitehead keeping hold of the ball is killing the attack down the left now as he also searchs for the step inside instead of a pass to Purtell to create a two on one.....I think it's time for young Elliott to take a game or two out. Also Lulia passing it into touch was shocking, should have kept hold as it was back to one. Kearney had a mare as did Sammut (except his off the cuff play). Kicking game was cr@p, should have bombed Tomkins all day long as he is terrible under the high ball (see 2011 4 Nations Final) and the 1st and only time we bombed him we got the ball back because Kearney pressured him.

Donaldson is a waste of space, I have said that for years, get rid and play Addy at Loose Forward from the off as James does nothing that Langley couldn't give us. Also Kear was Man of the Match today for me, excellent defence, excellent under the kick and great at trying to make yards.

Right now I know a few will say ah it's only 36-6 and we'll still do well etc but that's not the point if we want to be top 4-8 we have to earn it and in that first half we didn't. Credit where it is due we didn't stop fighting, grabbed a nifty try and kept them out for over 30 mins.

You just have to look at the two sides on paper to see the difference, they were filled with class and we aren't anymore. Have a lot of good decent players but no real class other than Kearney and Sammut and Wigan did well to shut them two down. I have to say we kept Tomkins quiet for long periods but everything Wigan do goes through Matty Smith and we let him and Farrell run the show :/

Week off next week (sort of) rest a few players and come back and have a crack at Warrington who I think tbh we have more chance of beating.
