To be honest, if BK and Sammut play as they did on Sunday im not sure Gale would get straight back in the team for me. Foster is a very capable FB while Kearney is playing Stand Off.

Not the sort of thing we wanted to hear but if it had to happen it's better now than maybe later in the season when we have other injuries to contend with.

In a tougher game though I think we'd miss Gales positional kicking to move us around. Didn't need that on Sunday. |

Pretty much what I thought when I read it too. Possible benefit is it forces us to concentrate on getting the basics right in short term. Then when gale returns we build on basics by adding his kicking game into the mix. Rather we waited till gales 100% rather than rush him back. |

Foster was solid at full back, and I very much liked the look of Sammut and Kearney as our half back pairing on Sunday. Sammut grabbed two tries and Kearney scored and provided an assist. Even if Gale was fit I wouldn't put him in yet the way Kearney, Sammut and Foster are performing. However, if one of them gets injured, we may have a problem. I suppose Danny Addy could come in to the halves. Don't forget there's Purtell to come back too, along with Bateman.

I refrained from actually starting a thread about this as we are always panicking about injuries, for a change we are on the low end at the start of a season, hopefully it stays that way as the Bulls deserve a bit of luck on the injury front! Stay positive and hope the Odsal Injury Curse went away with the Administrator!!

Purtell can resume contact in training at start of March.. not sure how long it will take after that for him to be ready for playing though.
all being as advertised at time Bateman should be ready to play at start of March. |
