Noticed quite a few penalties for incorrect play the ball today. Anyone know exactly what the referees are looking to clamp down on? Is contact with the foot or what? Must have missed the press release by the RFL.

Its this years pet, too many times last year players just stepped over the ball, clubs have been informed..last year was hands in at the ruck..child was slated for going ott with it but that was the chosen rule..year before was two feet on the line.

Its not a rule change, just a rule to be governed correctly.

We got penalised for it at dewsbury too. Pet rule for first few weeks then it will go back to normal.
