Just got back from a great night's entertainment.
The three comedians advertised- including compere Sam Brady- were original and differing in styles, each making their own excellent comic contributions to the modest price of £5 admission.
Pick of them was Andy White whose deadpan self effacing delivery was a work of comedy genious. He had me and the audience of around 300 laughing in tears. His timing is just about as good as it gets.
Duo- Jolly Boat headlined with an unusual but hilarious set of musical comedy. Or rather comedy skits set to popular music.
Most of the people we talked to were not Bulls fans and had come only for the Comedy Night

A virtual full house, 3 bars open doing great business, lots of happy customers - Simples!
Next Comedy Night is sometime in mid January.

AND the total refurbishment of the Trevor Foster lounge is complete. Half the area with leather settees and chairs around smoked glass tables, and the other half with restaurant tables & chairs.

I am faintly worried that it now appears so easy to turn the commercial side from a dodo into a phoenix rising. Worried not for the future but worried about the lost years in which the same could have been done.

There were two comedians named White, both good. The first, I think, was Andy the second Carl(?) For me the second guy was the best though: I can't remember much of what he said but, if you read it, it wouldn't seem that funny. However, the way he delivered it it was absolutely hilarious!

Sadly couldn't stay to the end and only saw the first 3 comedians. The 2 whites were excellent. I was crying with laughter especially at Carl's.

Would have preferred it to start at 8 rather than half past but an amazing value night out. Am looking forward to the January one already.

Couldn't agree more with your comments. I was a little worried about going at first as I didn't know how busy the place would be and if the comics would be any good. I've been pleasantly surprised.

The compare Sam was a great host, even away from the stage he seemed to be chatting to a few at the bar and generally making sure everyone was happy.

Andy White was excellent and was teh stand out performer for me, although Carl White was also very good (my missus didn't really get him though). Didn't see Jolly Boat as it was getting a bit late for me (I was up for work this morning at 4am).

Only shame was the second act who seemed to lose his confidence very quickly. I've seen enough comics to know that this sometimes happens, especially when they are obviously trying new material. However, it wasn't enough to spoil a really good evening.

On the note of everything going so well, it just seems to be that we are getting the basics right. The management team appear to be more than happy to roll their sleeves up for the cause (I even saw Vipin baking the pies in the kitchen!!!).

All in all, keep up the good work!!!

Sounds like an overwhelming success. I'll definitely try and get to the next event.

Glad this went well. If it can become a regular thing then it'll grow.
