I have been reliably informed from a current bullette that their services (along with Steve Bailey) are not required for the Wakefield game on Sunday.

The bullettes are currently paid £50 for each game so I can understand the reasons behind these cost cutting measures.

Could be a strange atmosphere come Sunday afternoon !!

Not a surprise, but imagine that they probably haven't been paid for a while! They are not required to hold the game so why bother increasing what we owe them when we have nothing to pay them with and the likelhood of administration on Tuesday.

No disrespect to the Bullettes, but I don't suppose they add much to the crowd, and nobody seems to pay any attention to their half time spot. When the Bulls score, they do a short jig in front of the main stand, but that's about it. If you're a million behind, you need a few hundred quid much more than you need dancing girls.

I'd happilly do the announcing for free! and I would be a sight more p[olite and knowledgeable than Bailey!

The amount he wound me up at the Leeds match, in the way he addressed their fans, was massive.

Insolvency rules effectively prevent the club from spending anything unless absolutely essential over the moratorium period - indeed, since the directors were on risk for trading whilst insolvent.

I think the pre match and half time entertaintment is something that needs to be fully embraced or not bothered with at all. No point doing it half hearted.

It depends on your POV to be honest. If you look back to what was done in the late 90s, it hasn't been 'fully embraced' for years. It has to be done with regard to the economics though, and whilst a few will miss the band and the girls, I'm sure the PA will be blaring out and the teams will be announced. Much as I'm normally the last one to want jobs to go we'll have to live with it I'm afraid.

It's no great loss and in the grand scheme of things inconsequential. Never known of anybody making the decision to attend a game based on pre match/HT entertainment or the lack thereof.

I have been told that the bullettes are now doing in for free due the clubs financial situation, my daughter plays for their second team.

Tbh with Olympic torch passing ground wouldn't be surprised if a lot stay outside to watch that and only come onto ground five minutes before kickoff. Seems daft spending money on pre match on those circumstances.
