| As someone who thought long & hard about putting my hand in my pocket when Ted Richardson made a similar request of Wakefield fans at the beginning of 2011, please consider what it is you want to be achieved with your money.
If you have complete faith in the existing management team then by all means put your money forward.
On the other hand, if you want to see a change in the management of the business then set up some form of "suppoerters' fighting fund" that can be used once Administrators have been appointed.
This isn't about saving your CLUB, but about whether the BUSINESS operating it survives. Please don't confuse one for the other.
Wakefield's future is now much brighter, despite the fears we had when the Administrators were appointed. I'm sure the same will be the case for Bradford.

No offence intended here because I geuinely appreciate the sentiment. But had Crusaders not pulled out you could now be in the Championship if the rumours were true (I'm not saying that would have been right had it happened).
Would you still think this then?
- that's a genuine question.

In a word.........YES.
Sure, I'd be disappointed that the club I support wasn't in the top flight, but at least they would still have been around. TBH, if Ted had managed to raise the money we would probably have been given the boot regardless of the Crusdaers "withdrawing" their franchise application.
As someone who was born in Bradford and has lived & worked there I don't want to see the Bulls in this predicament. The most important thing is to come out of this situation in a better position for the future, rather than just finding a solution to the immediate problems as the next one probably won't be too far ahead.

| I guess it depends if we have a rich backer who wants to take over. What happens if our own 'Glover' doesn't materialise?

| Fully agree with the first post.
Under the current regime we've had sales of star players, other top performers let go, the stadium name pimped out, a bail out from the RFL then the stadium lease sold away and those in charge still haven't been able to get a handle on things. All against a background of constant proclamations and stories of how the financial situation is manageable, or even sorted for good.
At best the situation surrounding the non-realisation we'd have nothing to guarantee the overdraft against after selling the lease can be called incompetence.
The people responsible for this are not people I'm willing to back in any way, the above-mentioned suggests the begging bowl will be out again before too long and any money handed over will no doubt go down the drain.
The board of directors, or the current crop of players, are not the club.

Andrew Glover's interest didn't really begin until AFTER the Administrators had been appointed, so you'll never really know if your own "Glover" is out there until they come forward. I suppose Steve Parkin may be interested in the Bulls, but he kept things dragging on with Wakefield and then pulled out of the bidding just before the Administrator's deadline.
Right now the question should really be what happens if you raise the £1m and then find a similar situation arises in a year or two? Would you open your wallets a second time?

| I think the difference between Wakey and us is on the playing front. With the Bulls we have some young players who we are looking to build the squad around (Bateman, Whitehead, O'Brien, Burgess etc) Wakey didn't really have this. It was sort of a thrown toegther squad. They lost some decent players but i don't think it was really a squad they were building for great things in the future IMHO.Our squad isn't great at the minute, but it is building.
If we go into administration, we lose everything we have been trying to build for the last couple of years, some of the most talented home grown players playing for different clubs, and then we also have the problem of attracting a buyer. I think we have a lot more to lose than Wakefield did last year.
For Wakefield it was a step forward. Andrew Glover has transformed your club. Your attendances are looking very healthy indeed. I believe you can build something down there, whereas before, i never felt Wakefield were building anything. At the bulls we currently have the home grown talent to build something.
I believe it is worth putting the money in to keep the likes of Bateman, Whitehead, Donaldson etc.

Totally agree!
When we were in the mire in 2000, we were more than willing to relinquish our Super League place to remain a going concern. A club in the lower league was a better prospect than having no club at all! Thankfully fate threw us a lifeline (or two!!) and I hope you find a way through this too!
Having read what the Wakey fans are saying, a supporters trust / fighting fund does sound the better option as it would get rid of the dead wood at the top of the club and you can start afresh!

I think the majority would yes, and I was there as a neutral, so this is not just bravado talking. I think most Wakey supporters thought that the long term future of the club was more important than SL Rugby!
That all said, they also thought there best chance of continuing SL Rugby was to see new management at the helm... & they were right. I think you best chance of staying SL is to accept the 4 points loss and spend the rest of this season building so that you are a new sustainable club that should stay in SL... or you could do a Crusaders and go bust again at the end this season and have no choice but to go down!
The supporter trust idea that Wakey fans are suggesting is where you should be pledging your money... not to the club!
Again... be careful what you wish for...
