We're trying to trace videos of any of Phil's games from the 1986/87 season before he sadly suffered his leg injury. Can anyone help?

Didn't the club used to make their own back then?

I thought Phil had the makings of a top centre before that injury. He was still a classy player up at Clayton though.

IIRC then it was a company called Micron video. Or I could have just had a brain fart. If it was then if they are still about they may be able to help.

I do have some venerable VHS tapes of ancient games. Do you know what games he played, if so I'll have a look and see.

I think it's the 1986/87 season in particular she's after as this was his first season before his injury. He played in most of the games that season. Farsley TV or A/V did most of the earlier videos that we've got and then Micron took over later. Unfortunately Farsley TV are no longer in business. The two games in particular are Northern v Widnes in September 1986 which was his debut game and the 1987 game at Featherstone that we won 10-26.

I think, though I'm not 100%, that Micron were taken over by Sky. They were based in Wigan at the time, IIRC.

I think his wife is looking in particular for games from the 1986/87 season which was his debut season. He played in almost every game that season and then sadly broke his leg very badly in the pre season 1987/88. Unfortunately the Farsley TV videos of that era are more difficult to come by. Micron didn't start doing the videos until 1993. They are still going strong in Wigan and film at our games.
