| There's a good off season thread on League Unlimted.com so I've nicked the idea for hereThe off season is long and quite boring. So i thought i would come up with a discussion/game, Picking between two players and you explaining who was better and explaining why. Then who ever answers can nominate there own two players.[/i
Only two rules
1) Try to name players who played in the same position.
2) Don't name blokes who no one has seen play i.e Harold Wagstaff, Jim Sullivan etc.
So i will start
Who was better ?
Robbie Paul or Paul Deacon?

| My vote would be for Robbie Paul. While the 2 players had slightly different responsibilities in the team, I've never seen Deacon pull out that bit of magic to break a line like Robbie could.
As Noble would put it, Robbie had "X factor". He had it in abundance. His backup play, his nifty footwork and the little cheeky passes he was very capable of pulling off. We've missed him since he left. More so than Deacon.

Agree with the above -For me, Robbie is the best player to ever play Super League. Wonder what other clubs think of this?
Here's one for you - Big Joe and Anderson? (For me, that's a tough one!)

| being lazy here: TV or LV?
(edit: back from doing the caption on the avatar image. Paul Deacon for me, Robbie was most effective with Henry beside him as he could do his own thing, Paul was the organiser so had more of an effect on the rest of hte side. wouldnt want to choose between Big Joe and Paul, TV for me as his defence was better without being much short on his attacking play, and that last try he scored in the sevens when he had one defender between him and the line, no dummy or body swerve, just smash straight over the player and the line, beautiful.)
Ps good idea, how about a caption competition (anything is going to be better than my effort!)

LV just for his tries per game ratio!
Was a real shame those 2 couldn't have played for a number of years in the same team!

I'd say Vagana because he proved himself in Tests and for the Warriors, but it's close.
Between LV and TV I'd say LV.
How about Glenn Morrison Vs Danny Gartner?

Damn you to hell. Don't you know what you've done? You're messing with forces you don't understand. Anyway it's too late, you have brought back from the undead . . . the Georgesons. Mark my words - it's only a matter of time.
Woe, woe and thrice woe

| Out of Anderson and Vagana i'd probably argue Anderson. It's a shame he left when he did, he still performed at the top level for a few years later.
Looking at the way they played, Anderson did break tackles for fun. I'll always remember the hand off against Connerly when we played Leeds.
