Says in Telegraph and Argus today (Philipinnes edition) Luke Gale signs for Bulls

Not overly impressed but haven't seen enough of him to comment really.

Young and British though.

"Gale blows in at Odsal" on Bulls site. 23yr old scrum half signs a 2 yr deal. So at the moment we have Gale, Jeffries, Briggs all definite for next year at Half back and Herberts future not yet decided.

good signing is good with boot and is young think herbert will go now and think cos gale can kick could spell end for ah van as well as wouldnt surprisse me if bulls looking at 2 overseas players to bring in

Pretty annoyed tbh. Vexed off about him signing so he better be good for us.

Gales worse than Briggs defensively from what I've seen so seems unlikely we'd play them as a pair unless they both improve. Maybe reason Briggs loan was for potter to get a look at how they combined. Distinctly underwhelmed with news tbh.

Can't say he's stood out for me when I've seen Quins on TV or live - although I do remember he looked very good in the first game of the season at Millennium Magic.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until I've seen him settle in a Bulls shirts. Hopefully he'll come good for us - he's certainly talking a good game in the T&A report today.

Presumably we're either letting Herbert go, or he doesn't want to to stay. A pity, as I think he's showing signs of coming good.

Wouldn't be so sure it's Herbert on his way tbh. Briggs seems to be one out of favour so other reason for loan deal could have been for quins to look at him. We could see Gale/Herbert as starting halves with Jeffries as backup. Gale's a similar quality player as Herbert but without taking a quota spot. Not an upgrade but could allow us to use herberts quota spot to strengthen elsewhere. Need to see all signings before we can say whether this is a good one or not IiMO.

Gales early career certainly looks good, if Potter can get that out of him for us it will be good business.

Yes it could be Briggs moving on not Herbert, maybe the Quins loan got him used to the bright lights. From the squads point of view which one covers both 6 and 7 best?
