| Thoughts are why now? Herbert & Kearney are out so we need him playing 6 and forming a partnership with Jeffries.
Once Kearney is back then it would be a better move, but I'd rather see him trying to make a name for himself in SL.

| I don't think the lad has had a fair crack at the whip, needs to be given his chance -I believe the time is now for him to deliver and cement a starting spot, hope he can

| It's not going to happen at the moment, surely
Maybe when Kearney, Herbert and....gulp...Sykes are back from injury. But not until then. Who would we play in the halves?

| If he was seen as "one for the future" but not first choice right now, it would make sense.
This would allow him to get regular game time at a level better than the reserves, but still train with the Bulls and work on whatever aspects it is he needs to work on to become first choice.
But as has been rightly said, he's needed at the moment with the state of the injuries. Once Herbert & Kearney are back though, I think it makes every bit of sense to have him training with the Bulls but playing for Fev.

| I have heard that Kyle not making the team earlier in the season is due to a falling out with Mick Potter, and he's only in now because there isn't a lot of alternative. the same source also reckons Briggs might not be the only one that's had a bit of a problem with the coach.

| Potter always had a reputation of being a disciplinarian, I wonder if that's not gone down too well with some? If so that's tough. As Nobby said on the SL Show, time for the players to "muscle up".

And, funnily enough, I have heard - from a pretty reliable source -that the reason he is not in is because Potter regards his defence as being nowhere near where it needs to be yet. And that Briggs accepts this, and is doing extra training to remedy the issue. And that Potter very much sees Briggs as one for the future once he is at the level he wants him to be.
Now which one it is (and recognising obviously that defence has been THE issue for most of the team), and who is right, well you take your pick.
I would hope though that a few players ARE having "a bit of a problem with the coach". Some of them bloody well need to, given the performances. I am given to understand Potter is a bit of a disciplinarian, which may not sit well with some players who have been used - maybe - to a rather more laissez faire approach? I heard one story last night - from a pretty good and reliable source - which demonstrated why at least one player definitely could do with having a bit of a problem with the coach.

| I guess we'll find out how much of a disciplinarian Potter is at the end of the season?

It could be both
Maybe Potter told him that he needed to get his defence sorted out. Briggs had a bit of a paddy because he thought he was a big shot, having been the 'main man' at Fev. But when he calmed down, he realised that Potter was right, and decided to knuckle down and put in some hard work.
So, it could be that both rumours had an element of truth about them
In general terms, I sincerely hope that Mick Potter IS cracking the whip. He needs to. And if any of the players don't like that...well.... as the saying goes 'don't let the door hit you on the way out'

| Over the years the Club has supposedly given the players a bit of comfort zone compared to other Clubs! Now this may be one way to get players when you haven't got the money to compete at the top table with some Clubs, so this could be a bit of Culture shock even to MP who is trying to shake up the system and get the players to be more responsible when the chips are down, There is a lack of steel amongst the Senior Players at present especially on Match Days! At least Orford actually did snarl his way round the park and also in the dressing room (which I gather upset Lynchys sensitivty) but we need someone to come and do that, but who is available who can??

After the McNamara years this is what we need from a head coach.
