RIP Tez!!
It has wierdly made me commit to reading as many rugby league players books as possible...currently in the post are Sean Longs, Barrie McDermotts, Kris Radlinskis and Paul Newlove (although he is a massive Judas, he was my hero when i watched Northern as a lad!!)

| Barrie McDermotts, book is a cracking good read,Big JT + Mo bull ive got that book hope its as good as the man him self. Joey Johns book is pretty good as he hate the public persona of himself.

It is he explains how he lost his eye. He comes across as the nice guy we all see on screen but wouldnt back down to anyone on the pitch.

The book "No Sand Dunes in Featherstone. West Yorkshire rugby league memories" includes interviews with over seventy people from the game: players, referees, officials, journalists and supporters. Among those interviewed are ex Bradford Northern players, David Barends, Phil Crabtree, Bak Diabira, Trevor Foster, Len Hayley and Tommy Smales. Other people in the book with a Bradford connection are Doris Beard, Ikram Butt, John Downes, Peter Fox, Gillian and Richard Johnson, Brian Smith.
The book is a result of the Huddersfield University Up And Under Rugby League project and will be launched on Wednesday 19th January in the large conference room level 7 of the Central Services building of the university's Queensgate Campus. Everybody welcome. 12 for a prompt 12.30 start with speakers including Peter Fox and Mick Morgan.
The book can also be ordered at any good book shop or direct from London League Publications web site www.llpshop.co.uk
