I am currently thinking of booking a holiday to salou for my and my girlfriend. When we fly we will both be 16 year old. 2 questions

1) Will they be bothered about us been 16 (We are going with 2 19 year olds)
2) I am booking it on my mum's card because i havent got a credit card as yet. But my mum has a diffrent surname to me. Will they allow me to do this?

For the age thing, I'd check on the airline's/tour company's web site to be honest, because they're [inot[/i all the same. I think the name on your passport is more important than the name on the card to be honest, but if you're using travel agent give them a ring.

Whatever you do don't just turn up without finding out, I can't think of anything worse than someone at check in/bag drop saying "I'm terribly sorry but..........."

I know many on here will try to be helpful but don't take any of it as gospel (including mine) please check properly with the people who KNOW.

Just do some research, decide what questions you want answered, and then look them up with whoever 'they' are, that you talk of.

The last place I would look at with these kind of questions would be a rugby league forum. Try finding out your questions by contacting those who have the right answers.

Just to let you all know, I rang up Ryan air this morning.

I asked 1) Is it OK if 2 16 year old fly. To which my reply was , That's fine as long as both passengers are 16 years old on the date of the departure.

2) I have book on my mums card, would this also be ok? To which my reply was, Yes thanks fine it doesn't matter who's name it is booked.

To be honest, I don't think the hotel accommodation will mind about us both been 16.

I don't see age being an issue but just check with the airline - I've seen younger kids put on planes before with someone meeting them at the far end. Or was that in a film? Damn the blurred boundries between fiction and reality.

One thing to bear in mind is that sometimes you need to present the card that flights were paid on if you're getting e-tickets. If the tickets are coming in the post it won't be an issue as you have to put the name of the people flying on them anyway.
