| Wow.. what a game!!!
Plenty of decent second half performances and one or two maybe in the first half to choose from so let voting commence. Voting ends at 12pm on Tuesday.
Mine are:
Matt Orford - Asked questions of Wigans defence and found the answers in the second half
Wayne Godwin - Wagga changed the game for me with his runs from dummy half, especially in first 20 minutes of second half
Jamie Langley - Another good effort up the middle

| Right, i will forget the first half and base my selections on the positives from the second half:
1) Man of match - Langley - Despite Orford scoring a brace of tries and being so influential, Langley showed AGAIN what an asset he is to us and is arguably playing his best rugby
2) Orford - influential in the 2nd half and really took control of the team and lead us around the park
3 - Crookes - This may seem like an odd choice but to be faced with Pat Richards challenging you for the bombs and to come into the team after so long not playing first team footy for us, I think he did well. Plus I always like to encourage one of the youngsters and hope they all get their chance!

| 1. Langley - absolutely immense. Solid in the tackle, and immense in driving the ball forward. He kept his legs pumping to gain those extra yards. I really hope he stays fit for the whole season.
2. Orford, put some kicks straight into the hands of Amos in the first half. Really pulled the strings in the 2nd half and controlled the team. 2 crucial tries that really gave us hope. A vocal presence on the pitch. The Ox is our little general.
3. Steve Menzies. Put in some bone crunching shots today. Solid in the tackle and impressed again.
Honourable mentions:
Whitehead - very impressed with the amount of tackles he got through.
Wagga - really helped us with speed at the play the ball, something I think we lacked with L'estrange.
Lynch - put in some really hard yards.

| Getting a bit repetitive this...
=1st Langers
=1st Ox
3rd? Perm any one from a number. Scrutes (again) Lynch (again) Whitehead (again ) Beaver (again) Wagga...his best game of the season and did more than anyone to break their defence second half...hell a lot of them done good second half...Koppy is maturing nicely...Crookes did not go to pieces after the first half and with Richards to handle.... quite the opposite...
Think before watching the replay will give it to Wagga by a whisker over Beaver...but half of me says should give it to Scrutes again...what a signing he is proving to be. OK provisional result from the Moldovan jury...
3rd = Wagga.
But I reserve the right to edit it to Beaver or Scrutes after watching the replay!
EDIT: After watching the replay, I'll stick with my choices - Beaver was great again, but Wagga made the difference when it mattered. But I have to say that Crookes, Koppy and Whitehead can all stand proud - and THAT gives me more cause for optimism for the future than almost anything.

| 1st: Langley
2nd: Orford
3rd: Menzies
On top of that I felt that Koppy had a cracking game, and instead of coming on looking like a bit of a plodder, he brought some real impact.

Not 'alf! What a future awaits this kid if he keeps his feet on the ground...and his eyes set firmly on the stars.

| was privileged to see the team in the coral after the game thanks to an unnamed official.
The players were very humble about the victory. Langers got a lot of slaps on the back but was very very level headed about it.
Steve Mc Had a grin so wide it could have housed the WCC. I have never seen him so happy either as a player or a coach.
Peter Hood was a very very happy man also.
I was upset to hear that Mr Hood got some unwarrented attention from critics at half time. The specifc circumstances would have made a lesser man react with some force. He was the man smiling at the end of the game and the critics suddenly left.
If you are one of those kind of so called supporters who call the result with 40 minutes left to play then I will say it if others are too polite
**** OFF AND FIND ANOTHER CLUB!!
Hood is a club man and anyone who has met him knows that. If you want to dispute that then at least have the decency to give him the chance to live up to his ambition of getting the club into a place where we can seriously challenge!
