Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the legends game tonight.

It was heavily advertised by the Bulls that it would feature the likes of Henry, Robbie, Lowes, TV, etc. With Jimmy Lowes being used in the pictures for the marketing for it!

None of the above actually made it and unfortunately it was no where near as good as the one a few years ago against Leeds!

So where were they? That's really poor. A bit of a con for the guys who paid £250 to play against them.

My thoughts exactly.

Personally me hero has always been Jimmy Lowes so if I'd have paid 250quid to play alongside him I would be gutted, absolutely gutted!

Very poor for he club to advertise such an event but not follow it through!

We did see legends like Sir Keith though. Plus there were a quite a few other big names like Dixon, Heron, Newlove, Gill, Hampson, Loughlin. Ok not many from the most recent history but I enjoyed watching.

From the announcements made it sounded like Lowes didn't turn up for some reason. Perhaps a bit unfair to blame the club without knowing all the facts?

TV turned up late. He was walking down the terraces towards the dugouts towards the start of the second half. I assumed he was then gonna get changed and quickly get on for a bit at the end, but instead he emerged after the match, not in kit.

I suspect Jimmy Lowes was caught up with the problems on the M62. The announcements suggested they were expecting him, he just hadn't turned up.

The fact the Paul Brothers weren't even announced in the line-up, said they had dropped out beforehand for reasons not mentioned.


The highlight of the legends match for me was Newlove's interception and length of the pitch run. As he got to the other side, he tried to step the last defender, slipped and ended up on his backside. Much to the amusement of the crowd and announcer. Obviously that back injury had returned

Robbie was there. I saw him before the game. Perhaps he was injured

Awww did he have a lovely big smile on his face?

I think Jimmy might have picked up an injury during a Warrington rough and tumble training session. I’m sure he would have played if he could. I read a few months ago he played in a help the hero’s charity game.....The old masters must play quite a few charity games every year.
