| Am I the only one that thinks that this is the only thing that is holding us back. I mean we seem to be able to do the business in the middle, move the ball around well, goal line defence is good, run good lines and play some great rugby. We also have pace now.
BUT we just seem to lack that confidence to throw the pass at the right time, to try a 40-20 and take a tap penalty.
Tonight for the first 15 mins with backs against the wall when we got the ball we only ever seemed to want to pass it Burgess and the first two points and the missed penalty in the second half for me I thought we should have backed ourselves and gone for it.
I honestly think not playing the top two again and having a game in hand should see us get into the play offs. I just hope we don't then freeze again. I honestly feel we could have won the last two games. We deserved to lose both but could have gone for both.
Just gor for it what's the worst that can happen?

| Yeah I think we lack a bit of confidence.
The two points that we missed towards the end was probably the right call, just a shame we missed it though.
The two points we took in the 1st minute showed a serious lack of confidence for mine though, great kick off, a bit of a blunder from Leeds, we should have ran it and pressured there line a bit and signal our intent. For me, taking two points one minute in the game is saying 'we dont have the guts to go through you, so we'll take what we can'
Leeds and Saints are rarley like that, they always want to run it in and apply the pressure, and quite often it works for them.
We need to get a bit of belief in ourselves.

But also when was the last time we went for a 40-20 or went for real yardage on a penalty? Deacon used to be the man who's technique was the bench mark for that sort of thing. What's stopped them having the confidence to try it?

| 40/20 is a wierd one, youve got to wait for the right oppurtunity, ya can't really just whack it and hope for the best. Kicking for touch was appauling last nite though, numerous times we must have only made 3 - 5 yeards.

| I feel more that we lack a bit of agression and desire to want to keep our defensive line solid by tackling the opposition hard and making them feel the tackles. We've got plenty of confidence to try things even though we're well down in the SL standings which was one of the positives from this evening.

| as a devout rhino with a devout bull as a father nfortunately] i attended last weeks game vs saints [ fathers day boo!] and obviously tonights derby and i must say that your side is far better than has been reported. In both games you could have won barring mistakes and a lack of a clinical edge. I honestly believe that if mc namara had an experienced head alongside him to assist with motivation and the finer points of the game you would be higher up the league [ begrudging praise 'ish'from a southstander]

| I think the inability to defend our line is the major problem we have still and have had all year so far.

As brief & incisive as ever. As the first 2 Leeds tries were at the opposite end to me I couldn't see the detail but the were down Sykes centre? Similarly Senior put Hall clear in the second half for him to drop it unopposed. That apart I thought Sykes did ok.
Until Deacon's try there did seem a lack of belief that you would get back in it.
