Don't think those are the sort of criteria they judge Man of Steel on, though? But otherwise I agree totally with your sentiments there. I've thought for years he's one of the most under-rated players in the competition, and as well as being a very decent guy seems he's a truly outstanding leader too.

Adrian Vowles won it at Cas, so there is precedent for a non-fashionable player. Can't see JD doing it though, as much as I would like it.

| Morley or Peacock for me, toss a coin it's that close
Their tussle at headingley recently was the best that i have ever seen from 2 british forwards in SL, with both players going at it for 80 minutes against each other, it was brutal throughout
The respect was there for all to see at the final hooter when both players hugged each other
True warriors the pair of them

You maybe misunderstood my point? Not that an "unfashionable" player won't be allowed to win it, but that - as MOS, as defined - there are stronger candidates than JD IMO. If, though, the award was for "most influential and inspirational leadership, and not a bad player either" then he'd surely be a leading candidate?

Give it to Sinfield then.

Take of the tinted specs mate Menzies hasn't done enough to win this.
It has to be one of:
Morley
Hodgson
Graham
Peacock
Nero

| Although personally I would give the award to Brett Hodgson, I can see Morley taking it. The challenge cup win may just tip it, but the selectors don't like to give it to non-english players if they can avoid it (See Sculthorpe over Lam & H.Paul and Roby over Barrett for prime examples).
I would probably have Morley as a second place though, so I can understand why he would win it if that's the way they go.

He's a 10 between the sheets and ain't been bad on the field in SL just wish he had his mind on the game in the WC
Also made the 2nd most breaks in SL (1st is his winger Hall!).
The only current Leeds player who hasn't already played for us who fits with the Bulls RL philosophy IMO.
